Hey guys, it's finally time to get new tires for my lifted Jeep KJ. I'm looking at going with a 245/75-16. I came across the STZ's, and they look pretty decent, and I can get them for $148 each from Summit. I live about 15 minutes from their GA store, so I won't have to pay shipping. Anybody running these? I do alot of highway driving, but I do get out there and wheel. I try to stay out of the mud, but I do get into it from time to time. Not deep holes or anything, but sometimes the trails get a little slick. I'm wanting opinions on treadwear, sidewall puncture resistance, and performance on rocks/sand. If anyone has them, some pics would be nice. What do you guys think, worth the money, or is there a better choice under $175ea?

Question, what are they going on? if a lighter rig like a jeep or 4 runner etc, I would go with BFG rugged terrain, MTs have a very stiff sidewall, therefore a very stiff ride. the bfg have a more flexable sidewall and a better ride. I found this out first hand, Cooper makes MT tires, my coopers were stiff as a board, and I thought it was because they were E load rated. but my new BFGs are E load rated and ride miles better than my coopers. This has been a really good upgrade for me from the coopers. Not that the cooper tire was bad, just STIFF. great on a full size truck, Had the ST MAXX and the new MT ATZ P2 side by side, the exact tire beside the main tread pattern, but very very close. sidewall composition is the same.

Jeep liberty, the BFG's are way overpriced for what u get. My rig is fairly heavy almost 5k lbs. I'm actually wanting a stiffer sidewall, but I want decent offroad performance as well. I always air down offroad anyways

yeah, I am just giving you my opinion on what I have used, I am running a JK unlimited which is a little heavier than yours and I find the bfgs awesome and wear like stones! But don't ride like them.

I am running STZs on my jeep wrangler and I love them so far. I've had them for approximately 2 months and haven't really used them off road yet but plan a beach run at the end of the month. On road they ride beautifully!

The only other tire I've run are the stock mud tires, these are much better ride and not as noisy. I'll have to see how they do in the sand.

I'm eager to find out. I make alot of trip to the outer banks of nc, and getting stuck in sand is at the bottom of my to-do list

I'll be going with my brother who has a jeep also so I'll see if I can get stuck or not! I'm in Dallas, Texas and go to Padre Island National Seashore as often as possible and haven't gotten stuck yet. Knock on wood! 😁
