Lift options for my JKU

Hey guys,

You all gave me great advice a few weeks back when I was tire shopping. I ended up going with the Cooper ST Maxx in 255 80 75 which are getting mounted tomorrow. My next order of business is a budget boost no more than 2.5 inches. Anyone have any good recommendations for a good kit? I'm leaning towards this Rough Country kit:

Would also love to see pictures of rigs that have my tires and a lift. Thanks again for the help.

I had a negative experience with RC Customer Service. I bought a "used" new bumper from someone and needed one of the mounting brackets, they wouldn't sell it to me. Finally they said they could sell it to me for almost $200...I'm probably just being difficult since I didn't buy direct from them, but I don't consider that good customer service. It's not like I was asking for a free part...I don't think I've read anything bad about them other than my experience.

These are pricey, but adjustable is pretty nice incase you have future plans... http://www.quadratec.com/products/16156_002.htm

I have that exact same kit on my JKU with no issues. I was able to install it in my driveway with relative ease.

Being that you went with 33's, why bother with a lift? If you want some more gap, why not cut the flares? If you end up hating the look, replacements can always be found on CL for free or cheap.

I hate how the front of the JKU sags and I just want to level it out so it's nice and even. I originally looked at the Teraflex Leveling kit but I got more curious as I saw more options on Quadratec.

Trust me, the teraflex kit is awesome. it works, makes the jeep look great esp with your size tires. I have over 130k on my teraflex leveling kit and love every second of driving. Adding Monroe reflex montubes take it to another level again, and they are available very inexpensively as well.

Thanks kojack. I have no doubts with the Teraflex kit but I definitely want to see pics of it with my tire size.

Teraflex makes decent lifts. They had an issue with fasteners breaking a wile back (happened to me) but they must've fixed that by now.

Did you look at the Mopar 2" spring lift? Not expensive and warranty-friendly. Comes with Fox shocks.

have a look at the photo in the tire thread, my jeep has it there with 285 coopers. they are the same height only wider.

If you just want to get rid of the sag why not throw in a Old Man Emu 10mm front spacer? Only $35 shipped for a pair

No pictures, but i'm installing Rubicon shocks/springs with the mentioned 10mm spacer up front and 255/75R17s. Going on a two door but should still get the same results.

I went with a 2.5 budget boost for my 35" tires and I really like it... Can't wait till it warms up...

There are also plenty of jeep related forums that have tons of pics plus Google works great. Do your research. I know for a fact anything you find at quadratec you can find cheaper at quite a few other places plus I don't think you can go wrong with teraflex for sure. I run the 3 inch and have for about 2.5 years with zero issues. I had 33s on mine until a few months ago and moved up to 35s. I'm sure I have pics in my profile with the 33s on 18s but alas I am on my phone and cannot tell so if you want to see some pm me.

Edit
Actually my avatar is my old 33s at jeep beach last year with the 3 inch lift. Just looked.

Did you notice a drop in power when you went up to the 35s? What gears and transmission are you running? I'm still running the stock suspension and tires on my 2014 Rubicon JKU but I'm about to pull the trigger on a 3" suspension system from TeraFlex and 35" Goodyear MT/Rs. I just don't know if I need to re-gear from the stock 3.73 and/or add something like a cold air intake for a few more HPs to make up for turning a larger tire.

You will feel the power loss for sure. Just how much is more individual than anything. I feel my 33's but I'm fine with it.

I also need to take in the fact that in time I'll be getting a rear bumper and front bumper with a winch. I'm afraid these will weigh it down if I get the TF leveling kit and not something with a little more height.
