My K30 Blazer - One Tons, 40's and an LS Swap

I know some might think that 40's on an "overlanding" rig to be a little counter intuitive, but the purpose of my build was to have a truck I could drive to and from the Rubicon, out to Moab, up to the Sierras, tow my camping trailer, park the trailer and explore explore explore without fear of ever getting broke down, stuck and lost. I have so far accomplished what I set out to do. In the past year, the truck has taken me and my family of 5 up to the snow in the Sierra's and halfway down the Sea of Cortez in Baja. Only issues along the way were one flat tire, and a loose body mount!.

Been a labor of love for the past 36 months as I plan, build and swear. About a year ago I started documenting the entire build over on youtube and that has proven popular. Thought I would post up here as I kinda span two worlds. I have the typical off road rig, but I use it for more of the overlanding stuff too.

LOVE IT !!! I think you are the first person ever to put larger tires on your M1101/1102 trailer (at least that I have seen anyways). Awesome !!!

Lol holy crap, go figure. I just started watching your trailer video a few minutes ago as it popped up on my "recommended" list, and I came onto ExPo to look at something else. What are the odds.

ETA: nvm. I was about to ask about the drawers, but just found the video documenting the build.

lol that's awesome. I wasn't gonna post here as I wasn't sure it fit in then I discovered the full size forum and figured I would throw it up here. Glad I did. Glad you guys appreciate it. Been a labor of love.

Man what's not to like about an LS swapped K30 on 40's that's not a trailer queen??

Can't wait to see what you do next. And the write up of the drawers on your site is great. I know what I'm doing next after getting over this cold.

Ha ha, don't worry about calling it a K5, it technically is a K5. The K30 was the one ton designation they gave to the pickup truck. I got my axles out of a CUCV military K30 and they are actually 1.25 ton rated so maybe I should call it a K40? lol.

Stoked to hear that people are getting use out of the website. I posted up as much as I could to be a resource for others. The whole purpose for my youtube and website was to put all the information I had to search for in thousands of places all in one place. Figured it was least I could do considering how much certain forums like this and others have helped.

Glad to see I found the right crowd! Will get some more stuff up as I create it!

Here is the latest. Not as truck focused but more focused on the camping aspect. I posted this in the power section but.....

thanks guys. I just wrapped up my latest video on my onboard tool selection. not complete by any means but a work in progress and enough to get me off the trail or road in most situations.

Looking good!
What size of light bar do you have behind the grille? And did you mount it to the rad support or top facia?
