Nice.. I've been practicing mine making dog leashes :) I do need to make some with normal winch line to get used to working with it and remember to throw my fids in the Jeep when out in the bush..

My GF grew up sailing and on the water, worked in marinas and has managed a west marine. Using a knitting needle would be outright blasphemy.
Exactly why she should catch you using one?

Those look good, try to get the core to milk all the way into the cover if you can, on the last pic.

Alex,
thanks,
i used the fid method to measure the core and for some reason when it told me to lace out of mark D there was a lot of material sticking out left over, i had to cut about 6 inches off the part you see sticking out. i left that bit sticking out a bit as it is a tight fit, and figured a small pull will tuck it back in once it is stretched a bit. I will try and manually tuck it in.
I only cut half off (only cut right hand weaves, instead of every right and left hand weave) of what was asked in the manual for the taper so its a little bit tight in there. so i didnt want to mess around trying to tuck the tail in, i think its more about looks at that point.

so , i just ran out to the garage in my pajamas cause it was bothering me. hooked the eyes onto my bumper and with some forceful milking and hand massaging and the tail tucked itself back into the sheath. thanks Alex.

That's pretty much how we do it, we use a cleat and pull on the ropes to get the splice tight, and yes Dzzz that is a kinetic double braid rope (like our Super Yankers).

New member here. I know this is an old thread and don't want to be a bother. I discovered this fine site while trying to find eye and/or splice instructions for kinetic rope. I've got a idea of what is being done, but not quite sure exactly what is being done. If anyone knows where I can find more detailed instructions, could you please post here or post a link to them?

Thanks in advance!
