I was curious about the sale price. Looks like it was recently sold, but a price they didn't think was sufficient. I guess they set the reserve too low? Anybody have any details?

I'd bet if the interior colors were something neutral like a white or a tan, and the exterior was "expo white" that it would have fetched much more. Plus BJ might not exactly be the right marketplace for something like that.

I thought it sold for around $40k.

I thought the interor was a little intense, but interesting. Don't think it would bother me.

On one hand- jeez is that thing overbuilt.

On the other hand, kind of a cool design, but, jeez that thing is overbuilt.

I'll pass. :)

If you click on their website you see this banner:

SOLD: [if you can call it a sale] January 19, 2008 for $45,000 by Barrett-Jackson. Great Job [NOT!!]

I was just curious for some background on that. Usually there is the option for a reserve price.

When Barrett jackson does their big January auction in Arizona they do it as a no reserve auction. I dont know why. maybe because its on Speed channel. They pride themselves on getting the most money for vehicles at that auction.

Kind of cool but overblown. Bathroom tiles would be the 1st thing I would throw in the bin.
Probably could have used a standard motorhome with a wheelchair ramp

6mpg h/way and 4 mpg offroad is pretty heavy for long trips

Unfortunately, I'm not surprised that they got so little for the rig. It is just too customized for a very specific need/usage. And I agree...the tile work, although impressive, is extreme and suits only a particular style. I'd certainly think twice before dropping huge dollars on it..I'd much sooner buy a proven rig (MOG, MANN, SCANIA, etc) that has both history and a more generic layout. Just my $0.02.

ps: I'm fully aware that I own a rig that probably falls into the same category as theirs....I love it and that's all that matters for now.
