LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry man! I had been up for over 24 hrs when I wrote that. I meant bitten. Man Im still laughing!!! I changed edited it, but it will stay memoralized in your quote

Haha, it gave me a good laugh.
I just got offered a new job with county EMS and I think I will be taking it. I will cut back my hours on the private ambulance and focus on the county job. It is a rural county north of Durham and I am looking forward to the change in pace. With our private service I am in Raleigh, Durham, Greensboro constantly and Im tired of the hectic city. Ill be trading the traffic for 30 minute response times to the closest trauma center.

Smoked my Pharmocology test today!!!!!!! 198 out of 200!!!:wings: It was a test on general pharm principles. We also had four days to learn 31 drug profiles:Wow1: of the core drugs in the box. The good thing was we only had to know Generic Name, Brand Name, M.O.A and Indications. Which was plenty for only four days study time. Didn't help that two of the four days I was in bed with a fever. Not quite sure how I pulled it off. Tomorrow we start EKG.

Nice work! you guys are a little ahead of us there. We start pharm next week.
I did do well on my patho/acid base test today though. I scored an 87. I was happy with that, considering that 90% of our first class failed it! Wow!
I also learned that they brought my 84 up to an 86 on the first test. Due to 2 bad questions or something. Im hanging in there.

Congrats on the 87%!! Thats about my average, and I m way happy with that. The only reason I got so high on this last test was we bascially knew everthing that would be on the test. So I was just a matter of memorizing the material. I have no illusions of ever scoring that high again.

I never trully under stood Acid /Base till just we covered it in our A&P. The A&P was intesnse but it made alot of things "Click".

We have two weeks on 3 Lead EKG then we go into ACLS and PALS. Later we move on to 12 lead.

Yeah that score is something to be proud of! I only hope I can get close to a 100 one day.

One thing I have noticed is that most of the folks who score like 100s on EVERYTHING dont do that well in skills or real world scenarios. It takes a very gifted person to be able to juggle 100% averages with common sense.

I agree. There are a few that I expect to "freak" the first time the have a real emergency and they are in charge.

We havent had much of skills yet. We did have to recert our CPR a few weeks ago. The instructors gave specific intructions that we should all be at the CPR instructor level and should be able to teach CPR. In order to pass the CPR skills section we were instructed to "teach" to our group instead of just show we were proficient in the skill. No one im my group got it. And all looked at me funny when it was my turn and talked to them like they didnt know CPR. I laughed.....

I worked with a women who got high 90s to 100 in school and if we did a serious call she had no idea what to do. Couldn't start a IV to save her life. Gotta wonder..:coffee:

I know exactly what you mean. In last year's paramedic class the girl who scored the highest in the class and won the honors, I actually worked with when she was a basic. I wouldn't let her touch me with a 10 foot pole. She is a brick when it comes to actually doing anything. Its scary to think that theres folks out there like that running calls.

We went for a chest pain and the first thing she asked the family what type of insurance they have. Then she got confused and totally forgot to ask about viagra and turned out he was taking it. That would have been a mess. It really doesn't pay to be the smartest in the class.

Im going to the program at Paridise Valley CC, on Union Hills just west of the 51. Its a semi part time program that meets Mon/Weds/Fri. Dan Donahue with Phnx Fire runs the program.

Oh I know Dan, he's the capt of EP725 A-shift I think, If you remember he was with TIm Hale the Phoenix FF that was killed in the Engine3/Rescue 3 incident back around 1993/94.

Was there a wait list to get in the PVCC class?
