Not my favorite type of gun by far, but it was inherited and there is no denying the awesomeness of such a old revolver.

I never had any trouble with the M9. What issues did you have with it?

Starting where?

Bad grip angle, large grip (and it was supposed to be smaller than a 1911, so women could fire it), bad design (exactly what problem is a double-action semiauto supposed to solve?), inadequate cartridge (which is why the SpecOps and USMC are switching back to .45ACP), bad frame design (the first ones cracked)....

I also don't shoot it well (I am a past master shooter in various pistol competitions, all with various 1911 types).

Further, the magazines the military specd (in ignorance) as spares early on were horrible.

I own one (a stainless model) that I purchased when I was a reserve (SAR) deputy...but it is certainly the safe queen these days.

Very nice gun. Such beautiful lines to those old S&W revolvers with the thin barrels. I've been meaning to pick one of those up for some time, just to have as a fun gun. You've inspired me - maybe I'll go lookin' this weekend...

Man, those are some hobbit feet. Not nearly as bat-like as my wife's, but then she was/is a ballerina and those toe shoes.

I've got an old .22 S&W on I think the same frame, I'll have to get a picture of it for you. And I by old, I mean the serial number is 2XX.

Nice inheritance.

My old man had a Smith that looked just like that, except it was in .357. He traded it off on a POS no-name .22 mag that was out of sync and cut lead...

I'll never forgive him. :)
