    Overland Cherokee

Being a former rock crawler I don't mind having an extra inch of fender room for axle flex. Also keep in mind how much extra weight I will have on this Cherokee. It'll look fine and ride great for all the driving I will be doing as it rubs with 3" and 31s now just putting the roof top tent on...

    Overland Cherokee

Picked up this 1990 Cherokee Limited last week. I'm going out on the road for 2 months at the end of August so this will be a fairly quick build. Plan: 4" lift on 31" tires Yakima Roof Rack CVT Roof Top Tent ARB Fridge/Freezer 92 Engine Cooling System Storage system for the entire cargo...

AWD wagons: Help me make a decision

Keep looking and hold out for the H6 or XT. I jumped the gun on mine and wish I would have held out longer. It's not terrible but the 2.5 really doesn't put out much power till about 4K RPM's but it does get 28 MPG on the highway. This is the set up I'm running right now. The roof top tent...

AWD wagons: Help me make a decision

I have an 02 Subaru Outback and with some good driving skills this car will go anywhere I need it to. Coming from a Jeep on 35" tires I am very impressed with what I can do in the Outback. It has a ton of interior space, roof rack, and the ability to tow a small trailer. I was always a...

Subaru Outback (or similar) towing an expo trailer? Warning - philosophical rambling

I'm building my Outback to handle a small trailer with a roof top tent on it. Right now the roof top tent is on my Outback and my ARB 60L fridge freezer is in the back.

Subaru Question, 2.5l motor and head gasket?

I have a 2002 Outback 2.5 with 158,000 miles on it and the head gaskets have never been changed. It doesn't leak oil or coolant and I don't see a reason to have them changed just yet but I do plan on having it done when I do the water pump and timing belt in a few months. This car has been...

    Rainwater Collection on a Trailer

Water treatment is definitely on my mind. Actually it's a part of a paper I'm writing for a class right now that will incorporate different ways to treat the water and which is the most efficient for different situations. All this will be incorporated into the trailer. I'm even considering...

    Rainwater Collection on a Trailer

Pat I'm really glad you chimed in here. I drew up some plans on my ideal trailer and then a few days later while doing some research I found your builds Ha just my luck I would design something that looks good and functions and somebody already built it. I'm working on the complete design in...

    Rainwater Collection on a Trailer

My goal with this trailer is to keep everything simple and use common ways to filter water. I plan on having solar panels on the top and batteries to store the electricity. I spent this past summer living out of my 1977 Monaco 23ft RV and I really enjoyed the traveling but the biggest issue...

    Rainwater Collection on a Trailer

I'm in the process of designing the trailer I plan to build early next year. I'm going to build a trailer that will be a bit larger than most but only because it must be able to carry my Honda Foreman 500 inside of it. The total dimensions are looking like they will be 5' wide and 10' long...

    I've Sprung A Leak!

Check the back of your Valve cover gasket. It may not look like it's leaking from the front but it's common for them to leak at the very back and drop down looking like a rear main seal is bad. Also check your oil filter and make sure it's not leaking. That's another common leak.

    drawer/storage system for Jeep Wrangler

I am also starting to design a drawer system with a metal rack across the wheel wells to mount a cooler/fridge, Dog Kennel, and other larger items depending on the trip. I considered removing my passenger seat to creat more storage room but the need for one extra seat seems to always be there.

    Post Pic's of your Jeep

I had a rock crawler and I'm changing my Jeep into an Overland Vehicle. So here's what I'm starting out with. It is completely stripped down inside and I plan on building drawers in the back with a perch in the back for my best friend and I will also be building a 4'x6' trailer to pull with me...
