New Electric Rivian Truck To Challenge Land Rover

Blaise, the Rivian and the new Tesla Roadster are not concepts. I think pre-production is a better description. You can place deposits for both models right now. Rivian's third model is expected to be and electric rally car. Should be interesting.

2014 Range Rover Supercharged offload friendly mods?

Here's my sport with a 6" lift and 37's. It's been like this for 20,000 miles now and I've had zero problems. I take this truck to Moab about three times per year and it's a blast. Anyone who doesn't believe that these new Rovers are capable right from the factory is mistaken. Yes, I...

37's on a Range Rover Sport

I've been really please with it. It has almost 40k miles on it (20k after being lifted) and we have not had a single problem.

37's on a Range Rover Sport

Uh oh. The "hauls ***" comment concerns me since my son has been driving it!

37's on a Range Rover Sport

Off the top of my head...new front drive shaft, re-alignment bracket for rear, added cv's to steering, motor mounts, steering knuckles extended, front air shocks extend, rear shocks extended, modified differentials, and suspension spacer cages. I'm missing a few things and will have to ask Jack.

37's on a Range Rover Sport

You're comparing two different vehicles. The power of a supercharged Range Rover makes gearing a non-issue. It's still quicker than an SUV should be. I have no issues on or off-road. I've also had no issues with the CV's over the past year while running 35's. Are they the same as the ones...

37's on a Range Rover Sport

I just added the step which really helps when getting in or out of the truck. I'm 6'4" and without the step it wasn't easy. As soon as I bought this truck I started looking to modify it. The lack of aftermarket support was frustrating. Fortunately Jack Auston, from Auston Fabrications...

37's on a Range Rover Sport

It really drives well. Drives a lot like a stock Range Rover. This engine produces so much torque that gearing really isn't an issue.

Here are some more pics. There was significant trimming that needed to be done to fit the tires and prevent rubbing. People either love this rig or hate it. Exactly what I expected.

Thanks! I'm having fun with it.

37's on a Range Rover Sport

With it being a unibody the frame and body are one in the same with self contained suspension carriages. A simple body lift does nothing with the driveshafts, steering knuckles, etc. All of that is addressed in this build. Also, the engine is directly connected to the suspension carriages so...

37's on a Range Rover Sport

No doubt one does not need giant tires or a 6" lift to go off road. This isn't about "need," it's about fun. People buy these very capable vehicles and never use them off-road. I do and I enjoy everything about it. I have a G63 with a slight lift and 33's. It's every bit as capable off-road...
