  • Size does Matter!

On the Trekoftheamericas Expedition The height limit of the new ferry from Panama to Columbia is 3.8 m , otherwise the vehicle must be shipped on a RORO steamship.

The TrekLog gives a km by km (mi by mi) camp and travel guide for the Pan American Highway to all that participate in the event, this combined with GPS, and the fun of traveling together will assure that on ONE, will get lost....if we get lost we will do it together!!! Traveling the Pan American Highway is not just visiting the "tourist areas"....but stopping in the small out-of-the-way villiages and live with the neighbors awile...that is what you remember the most!! Many times your neighbors are also the wild birds, and animals of the area.
1,000,000 Kms., 13 Overland Expeditions to South America with Lance Camper and Ford Diesel Pickup!, ... now in July, 2014 will be the 14th with 9 other RVs..... it is also the 100th Anniversary of the Panama Canal

Back in the 90s our first scout from Holland conquered this route with his pickup and TRAILER

Starting the first treks from Alaska was a great experience, especially when arriving at the sign in the Ushuaia National Park at the end of the Pan Am Highway, which reads" ALASKA- 8,880 KMS" The last 10 TREKOFTHEAMERICAS treks have commenced in McAllen, Texas, all in the month of July, with international participation from North America, Europe, and even Asia. This July 2014, will be very special because of the 100 year anniversary of the Panama Canal, which we will be staying extra days to participate in.

CURRENTLY WE HAVE SOME SPACE AVAILABLE, but are limiting the total trek group to 10 vehicles, with a size limit of under 10 meters.
