Thank very much.
With the 4.88 gears the V6 has plenty of get-up and go (think toque multiplication of the gears). Unloaded it will probably chirp the tires on asphalt (I don’t know first hand because I don’t drive like that) and will absolutely fry the tires on dirt with traction control off...
lol. Very unusual! Everything about what we drive is so unpractical and not necessary. It’s really about convenience when trying to live out of a vehicle, which 99.999% don’t have to or want worry about.
If it were up to me, I would keep the 4runner and start the next build. But I am a “we”...
Thank you! I love it too. I strongly believe V8 4Runners/GX470s were made full time 4wd to lessen the load on the rear 8” differential (and prevent people from having too much fun in RWD 😂). They are notoriously weak. Mines only a V6, but the added weight killed my first set of gears from ECGS...
A stock 2016 4runner with 100,000 miles is comparable in price ($27,000 is the cheapest one near me.) 4th gen 4Runners come with basically the same safety features as 5th gens with the exception of a couple more air bags (knee, I think). In 2020 they got adaptive cruise and 2022, blind spot...
Thank you, I’d like to think so myself. Bummed to sell but need to move to full size truck. This vehicle represents 13 years of work! The Diamond Axle is pure beef!
Thank you. The places we go, our lives depend on this vehicle. I took great care with cable management and protection. Everything...
As the title states I’m selling my 1967 K20 project truck. I drove it a couple years in high school (2006) and pulled the engine to put fuel injection in it (2007-2008). It’s been sitting since and I’ve collected parts and have had work done here and there over the years. Selling because I need...
Back from the dead and updated:
4runner has just under 138,000 miles now and everything listed below is included (fridge, tent, etc.) I’ve also added replacement costs for reference.
Upgrades since original posting:
- Front Range Offroad 9.5 axle housing and diff with ARB/Nitro 4.88
- 5th gen...
So, am I way off on price? I’ve seen 4Runners asking 26,000 that are bone stock with higher miles. Being a 4th gen, it’s probably a pretty niche market.
FYI, this vehicle isn’t listed anywhere else right now. I may post it on Instagram here soon.
Thank you, @shinyblackdeer. I really don’t want to sell because it’s so dialed in and have many awesome memories in it.
For anyone wondering, we are selling it because we want to move to a full size pickup as we begin to start our Family. I wish I could keep it!
If anyone has any questions...
