The dogs make me lift them in and out of the bed, so im not too concerned with them jumping over the side. Also, there isnt a whole lot of room in the bed once we get packed and the dogs are in the cab.

I thought about that, but because of the rack, getting the rain run off out of the truck bed would be an issue.

I think the auto SE v6 came with 3.36 but the auto SV v6 came with 3.13 gearing. I might be wrong though.

Do you mean cargo in the bed or are you referring to the latch mechanism? I haven't noticed any more dust or dirt in the bed since I did the gate. Either way, I keep all of my camping equipment in action-packers so dirt isn't an issue. I need to drill out the latch to fit a 1/2 hitch pin...
