I know this is going to be a hyper Necro-post, but I wanted to update for anyone who was looking for info on these trucks:
The steering and suspension components have held up perfectly to the years of abuse and the meaty 35s.
I did have to swap the rear axle, after the shop that did a bad job...
Thank you guys for the support! I am pretty happy with my truck now, that's why there hasn't been many updates for new stuff. I was super unhappy with the selection for front/ rear bumpers, either being really dumb and heavy, or being crazy expensive, which is why I made my own. I would really...
New pics from a recent trip
Had tons of fun climbing a hill in Utah, good views.
The King shocks are performing well, and the grabber x3's are amazing. I really need some UCA's for down-travel though, which I know will improve basically everything.
Pics!
Hey, so sorry its been forever since i've checked this thread. I do have the CAD files if you want them, just PM me.
Rock sliders are impossible to find fitted ones for silverados. I looked for a long time to find ANYTHING that would work. As well as being the style that I like, I used square...
Thank you so much for the compliment!I finally got those pics for ya.
Warning: Fender carnage
I will probably end up rubberizing it, and cleaning it up a bit more, but that's what I had to do. It looks a little gnarly, but its unnoticeable unless you look close.
Looks great! It's awesome to see another full size GM on the board.
A 3/4 ton is certainly not too big, but you may have to squeeze in some areas.
I love how ambitious your project is, I am excited to see how it turns out! My advice though, is to keep the tires to a max of 37 or 38's to...
The kings are all extended travel. There is some kind of limiter that can be removed for even more travel, with UCA'S from what I understand.
The transmission cooler I used was the stock chevy towing aux cooler.
The nor cal mod was not nearly enough, and I had to do some serious metal removal...
The kings up front are at about 3" I'm pretty sure. I was planning on running them @ 2.5" but from what I set them at, I'm getting 3". I am not running UCA'S yet, but I am planning on getting the cognito ball joint ones, because the uniballs need a lot of maintenance especially in mud/salt...
That shouldn't be difficult for stockish offset rims, but for the 0 offset wheels, you might need a bit of plastic trimming. Not sure why people are so afraid of trimming.... Are you thinking of doing coilovers?
They are exactly that. Be aware that you'll need to be very eccentric with the angle grinder if you want to fit true 35's with 3" of lift. The outside diameter of the general x3's 35's is almost exactly 35". Not 34.5 like the toyos or BFG's, so I had to trim even more than some. Also, I finally...
Big update for me!
Did the following mods:
King 2.5 resi Coilovers front and rear
1" block lift in rear
Heretic Studios Lightbars (had just one 20" in the front) now have 20" in the front 30" in the front and 2 pods in the rear
Bussman RTMR Relay/ fuse box and in cab ashtray switch panel (link...
