Are you planning on using wiretrim? Your design seems a bit detailed for monstaliner so I'll be interested to see how it goes

    Aluminum Framed TC

Just sold my van and bought a new Super Duty Diesel, anywhere to find what year each manufacturer switched over to aluminum framed construction? I've seen Lance switched in '05 or '06 but nothing definitive, also not sure about all the other options whether it be Host, Artic Fox, etc. Would...

New 4x4 project, seeking advice or vendor parts

What are the wheel mounting surface widths for both axles? You may have to throw some spacers on anyways to clear the wheel wells?

You would have no problem on imogene with your van as well. Black bear would be sketchy, but i have seen diesel crew cab shortbeds take on black bear no problem, i have also seen a stock ford escape destroy black bear. I used to work for an offroad tour company and have seen some amazing feats...

    Couch Bed ideas

Anyone using as big of a bed as possible? My wife likes to let our dogs jump in the bed in the mornings and was looking to have a bed thats 70"x76", which is about as big as i can fit in the back of my e350. So somewhere between a queen and king, and use all king sheets and comforter. Would...

    Hatz 1B20X

I know this is seeming like a one sided conversation, but does anyone have anything to say about a cs130 or cs144 alternator on this experiment? Brushless design and much less efficiency losses, maybe i could push a 120amp brushless cs144 with this motor? The 10si and 12si i have read to be a...

    Hatz 1B20X

Yeah I have seen graphs where the outputs are lower when the alternator has warmed up. Once warmed up it looks as though the alternator could be around 60 amps, which is still enough to supplement solar. I am not sure that the engine could really push a larger alternator though, maybe the 1b30...

    Hatz 1B20X

So I just got in contact with the guy at theepicenter.com and he seems to think I should have no problem with the larger alternator and this diesel engine. Looks like I will order the bracket, alternator and other parts up to give it a whirl. I'll post some pics and my findings.

I ended up finding one of these for cheap with very low hours in an auction. These were used in the subaru diesel generators, many different power sprayers and other fun diesel powered equipment. At 1500rpm, I have 2.15hp to play with. As I increase rpms, I can get up to 4.7hp. I am planning...

    Move Bumpers

Just noticed you can do an "offroad" upgrade which changes some areas to 1/4". Not too bad for the price!

    Move Bumpers

I think thats the miller multimatic 215, which has mig and scratch start tig. The millermatic 211 however is a phenomenal piece of equipment, I purchased one to replace my hobart 140 when I did my SOA w/ cut and turn on my fj60, and I cannot say enough good things about the 211. These move...
