My theory is there is a glut of unsold petrol / gas , diesel doesn't go off , petrol does , and The rush for diesel caught the fuel producers out . Jet engines use a form of paraffin, very close to diesel but there is no outcry over those ?

A relay is the way to go , only four wires , you can get a spot light kit ready wired

Sounds like a prop shaft UJ has gone a bit stiff or maybe CV joints when worn pop and ding a bit .

Remove the inlet pipe and blow with a airline , sometimes they build up with green sludge

Only left hand drive available?
