    Opinions on Suburban 2001 rig?

Nico, you seem concerned with reliability due to the age of the vehicle and I don't believe you should be. The GMT800s have some quirks, but they are well built. While not a suburban, I daily drive a 2005 GMC 2500HD 100 miles a day through Dallas traffic. I have 232K on the odometer. I'm...

    1983 Chevrolet K10 SWB - LS Swapped $18,900

If you're looking for a vintage truck for overland travel, but with the reliability of a modern powertrain look no further. My '83 Silverado just needs a bed rack and an RTT, or a Phoenix or 4 Wheel Camper in the bed and you're good to go. Truck is in Rockwall TX, a suburb 30 miles East of...

The Mule's resurrection (99 Explorer Sport)

off topic, but what lift size, wheel size, and tire size was on the Cherokee? It looks perfect. I used to have a black 2 door sport explorer as well. i'll be following this.

    Larry's 1978 K10

Cool pics Larry. Just read through the DT 2017 Trip Report, it was awesome as usual. That one pic of y'all waiting on Zoo's truck to cooperate while looking down from Wolf Creek pass was cool. We were in Pagosa this summer, and I saw the same view. I'm about ready to start an LS swap on my '83...

"One Piece At A Time" Build

I really like this. As others have stated, I too have day dreamed about converting a 1/2 ton conversion van. I think this would be perfect for some family trips while the kids are still young, before they start to hate us. I looked through the thread but didn't see mileage mentioned. What do...

    Bucky's slightly older cousin.

Looks nice. I keep an eye out for Z71 Suburbans and Tahoes of this vintage constantly. I do regret selling mine. I like the '05 2500HD I'm in now, but miss the ride of the 1/2 ton for daily driving.

    Airbags for towing?

Martin- I ran those Airlift 1000 bags on my 2005 Z71 burb, and they worked really well. I too, only used them for towing. I routed the airline along the fuel fill tube, and terminated the Schrader valve in an existing hole inside the gas door next to the fuel fill. I didn't have to drill any...

That is a good looking truck! In fact, I saved that picture to my hard drive a while back. I really like the brown.

Ford F150 and Chevy 4x4 in the Same Family

While digging around on our favorite web site, other than ExPo of course, I ran across this 2005 GMC 2500HD. This will pull the camper. It's gas, 6.0L, 4.11s, auto, leather, came with the camper top, etc. To be honest, sitting in it felt just like the suburban except for a white hood in front of...
