This is what we came up with. Cassette is taken out the drivers side compartment door after opening it. Going to have a sliding door with an internal shower curtain to help direct water.
Personally I would roll with just that. You are able to get up front if need be without going outside but dont need to cut big holes and deal with trying to make a water tight connection.
I left the outside compartments with the exception of the drivers rear section. I removed the inner section of the compartment to build my bathroom. Toilet cassette is behind the rear upper saw/tool compartment door.
I dont have a pass through. My spare tire will remain behind the cab and in front of the box. With the rear opening door moving the spare tire wasn't worth it to me. I did have the thought of modifying the box so that I could have a side entry but decided it wasn't worth it. I like the rear door...

I decided to jump in buy a 1078 a couple years ago to give it a whirl. Knowing Sr. Suave and his apprehension about these trucks I have been pleasantly surprised thus far. As I have not done what the OP asks I can only relay my experience thus far owning one. I have been in contact with a few...
I have married up a 13ft buggy box to my LMTV and used essentially the same system that was used on the original chassis. Hard mounted at the back with springs towards the front. The only thing I added were vulcanized rubber strips between the the box rails and the truck frame rails. The...
