I generally like BCN but I don't like the limited file size. It would be ok if I were I hiker but I use it for off-road navigation. I need bigger areas.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1" with a 128MB SD card. I made a dash mount for my truck. It is a big step up from my old monochrome...
I'll look into Hema. I have some questions:
1. What are the map sources? One of the positives to BCN are the maps. I like the Arc GIS maps
2. What does Hema cost?
That is what I use too. Simple, small, light, easy to store and they'll outlive me.
That link has the Shelbys which are the good ones. No cheap knock-offs there.
Before I put my $0.02 in I want to explain what I do and what I am using currently:
I go on 4x4 trips out in the deserts of California and Nevada, although I have a trip planned to Utah later this summer. I go on 5 day trips 4+ times per year with a group of friends. We explore the desert...
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A that I won last summer at a conference I went to for work. I installed BackCountry Navigator Pro on it and used it for a few trips. The more I use BCN the more it is driving me crazy.
I wanted to put maps of places I explore on mini SD cards and leave them on them...
