Interesting. I have exactly the opposite opinion. Land Cruiser is the natural upgrade to the 4Runner and directly in line. I have a pretty built 4th gen 4Runner and a 2017 LC, and I feel like the LC is basically just a super-4Runner. They even look very similar. Can't wait 'til the wife is over...
Cool setup. I have a 2004 Weekender Transcontinental that I tow with a 2004 V8 4Runner. I've been leaving everything wide open when I fold up and just tucking doors and other canvas in as it closes. I'll have to try some of the tips in this thread.
Yes, you can buy the temporary use of this item for the rental price. You also pay "sales tax" on things you rent. I, for one, am stoked to know I can drive trailerless to AZ and have the option to rent such an awesome off road trailer without having to plunk down $30k to own it.
I think the kamparoo tank is 16, and I carry 10 more on the truck. I've had it out twice, both 3 day trips, one with three people and one alone. Didn't make a dent in it either time, but it was hard to use with the hand pump. This pump flows 1.4gpm, so I guess we'll have to use it carefully.
Great. Post up with any thoughts you have on improving the install or anything. I was able to lift and prop the bed to access the front right corner (area closest to factory water pump stowage) to mount the pump. Meant to post a picture of that and didn't get around to it, but there's tons of...
There may be pumps like that, but the one I used recently just turns on when it senses demand/pressure drop on the "out" side of the pump. You turn on the faucet, and the pump starts pumping to supply water, and you don't need a special faucet with a wired switch or anything. My pump has ever...
Glad to hear it. I hope it's useful. I'm sure you could find a way to do it all with nylon tubing, but I wanted the braided sink lines for durability and flexibility since the sink slides in and out and the camper sees heavy off road vibrations and such. No leaks so far. This approach also...
So we realized on our first outing with the (new to us) Kamparoo that the manual water pump was really inconvenient. It didn't really allow for hand or dish washing. I didn't even want to take the camper back out until this was resolved, so I did some research and came up with a pretty budget...
I spoke to the owner today and he's extending the sale since he hasn't updated the website. $499 is a good price for the "Outdoorsman Baltic Birch Complete" with table extenders, but if there are three other people interested we can get them for $439 shipped. Has to be one order, but it can...
I've been the guy in the Hornet out of China Lake many times. Luckily we low level at 200-300'. Plenty of vertical separation.
Service was a privilege, thanks.
