Pretty sure those are torsion Bars. The torsion axle in a trailer uses a big chunk of rubber as a spring and damper in one.

I think you're right- I don't believe the civilian trailers came with shock mounts either. That or it's a very early civilian model that used surplus frames.

Good on you for taking on the project. I had bought one a couple years ago, but every time I looked at it I got so discouraged by the rust and all the previous "fixes" done by previous owners (Bondo and caulk were the materials of choice for them).
How's the frame look? How are you addressing...
It could have some benefits off-road, I think. If it's loaded up it would be nice to have the electric brakes when you're going downhill on steep grades.

I like it. I like the modularity so you can have ammo boxes with different contents for various purposes: set of boxes for general use, a set for hunting and camping, another for hardcore off roading etc. Very nice!

Not sure about sequoias, but I bought my 09 GX470 a couple years ago with 60k miles. Always Lexus serviced and probably only driven to the country club based on all the tees I found between and below the seats.
