Bigger is better? Long vs short bed

I daily drive mine and never wish the bed or cab was shorter. 20170727_193918 by colorado_baja, on Flickr

Expo style rear bumper build for a Sliverado 1500 (GMT-800)

That's for sure, the other one wasn't far behind it. I have a manufacturing background as well so I know all about part segregation and acceptable quality limits. It sucks when you really need that one part to work and it fails prematurely haha. That's life. I don't usually build one off stuff...

Bringing this project back from the dead.. Thanks for the compliments guys, family, work and other projects have kept me from messing with this thing very much. But we have gotten it out for a couple trips. Everything on it works like we had hoped, needs keyless entry, trim installed and a...

Expo style rear bumper build for a Sliverado 1500 (GMT-800)

Thanks for the complements, I dunno about innovative but we managed to cobble a bunch of left overs together and make it work :sombrero: The pivot and the whole bumper is holding up well after a year of use, no cracking or weld failures. The top of the bumper and the recess by the license plate...

Expo style rear bumper build for a Sliverado 1500 (GMT-800)

My friend usually spends July and August in CO since its so hot in AZ and UT during that time. His rig needed some maint so we dug into it. NP246 is interesting inside to say the least. You need to dig deep to replace the front output bearing and seal. 20170717_140244 by colorado_baja, on...

Thanks Seabass! Your build and some others here inspired me to go big on the cab and I'm glad I did. Between my German Shepherd and my 6yo we fill it up quick haha I have been hand calculating the mileage and in true big block form it gets about the same loaded as it does unloaded. The line...

Thanks! Forgot to add that the truck pulled great up to 11K ft, pretty much go as fast as I want uphill and the temp stays well below 210 at all times. Ill probably wire up the ground switch for the electric fans for stop and go traffic to keep the fan from cycling on and off.

Little update.. Been piling miles on the truck since getting it on the road. Averaged 13.77MPG over the first 1300 miles. The state of Colorado finally got around to making my plates, I wanted "8.1L" but that isn't an allowable combo in CO so I got the next best thing. 20170615_111736 by...

Thanks! Its a lot of fun in this truck, Ive been easy on it the last couple days breaking in the clutch. Centerforce recommends 500 miles before applying full throttle or hauling with it so I've been trying to stick to that. Probably haven't applied more then 60% throttle and it romps thru...

Thanks gents. Chilli guessed correctly, been super busy with the summer season coming up. I did however get some time to finish this thing up. Got the harness mostly routed. 20170412_154849 by colorado_baja, on Flickr Installed the LED for the check engine light in the spot where the...
