    Overlandtowater’s solid axle suburban

I know exactly how hard you've been pushing your rear end to blow up the G80, and how far you drove with it after destroying it, been there done that. To keep things simple go with a Detroit locker which would require you to swap the ring gear onto the new carrier and possibly re-adjust the...

    Convertible Overlander: Baby Shark

I used to wonder why every surfer dude in Cali had a convertible, and now I realize that it's really convenient for for a surfboard or a kayak. Finishing up a beautiful sunset kayak paddle.

    Convertible Overlander: Baby Shark

Baby Shark went on it's first adventure. Went for a drive and got a little carried away, ended up exploring Capitol Reef National Park. Drove the Burr Trail and up the Switchbacks. Remembered what a difference tire pressure makes, 15psi is much smoother than 35psi. 12% grade, tight...

    Convertible Overlander: Baby Shark

al_burpe, Thank you. Stuffed the OEM wheel and tire into the trunk. I will probably get another Subaru rim and a full size spare if I can fit it into the trunk.

    Convertible Overlander: Baby Shark

billiebob, Your TJR looks fantastic. The thought of building a lightweight teardrop to tow behind the Celica has crossed my mind a few times, lol.

    Convertible Overlander: Baby Shark

FROADER, Virtually the same even though it feels like it's a lot less. With tiny old tires I was averaging 31mpg city(country roads) and 28mpg highway. New tires. 370 miles per tank of gas which is 320 miles displayed + 51 extra actual miles due to 16% speedometer error. This gets me around...

    Convertible Overlander: Baby Shark

highwest, Sorry to disappoint but this is the tried and true 2.2L inline 4 cyl Camry motor mated to the same Camry automatic transmission. No turbo nor are there any turbo plans in the future. And front wheel drive only. AWD are difficult to find and are way too expensive, just not worth...

vintageracer, $100,000+ is nice, but $1,000 is nicer, well double that but you get the point.

    Convertible Overlander: Baby Shark

Not sure if this is more appropriate in general Toyota forum or other vehicle but here it is. Presenting Baby Shark ? 1996 Celica GT Convertible Gas prices keep going up and I find spending less time in my gas guzzler. Baby Shark gets 3 times better miles per gallon than my truck and I...

2007 Yukon XL K1500 low lift with 37"s

blu88, Not exactly sure on the offset. using 17" weld racing rims, they look like about 30mm offset as well as 1.25" spacers in the font and 2" spacers in the rear. This combination gives me the most ideal scrub radius with no rubbing. Hope that helps

2007 Yukon XL K1500 low lift with 37"s

I only have pictures on the 07 with 37s just to see what they look like. Still have 37s on my 00. I think I am going to end up doing a 3" body lift and 37s on my 07 eventually. Just way too many projects at the moment. 07 has struts, no torsion bars. To fit 37s on GMT900 you will need to do at...

2007 Yukon XL K1500 low lift with 37"s

mrpeterclark, 35s are nice but 37s are nicer, 40s are nicest! To fit 37s on 2007-2010 Suburban 1500 with minimal lift you will need 3" body spacers kit, F150 torsion keys or Atomic FAB coilover kit up front, 3" coil spacers in the rear, same length shocks up front and 1-2" longer shocks in the...

Weight Capacity of Roof or Racks

jaeggernaut, Can you take a post a picture of your roof/roof rack/sunroof, looking back from the front of the Expedition? Manufacturer's recommendations are based on liability. It is not necessarily the actual dead weight rating of the roof rack or the roof but the safe load of the weight on...

2007 Yukon XL K1500 low lift with 37"s

It's been a crazy summer but I think I might be back to playing with the truck. Lot's and lots of miles this summer, many highway miles, many dirt roads and a couple trails that required absolutely no modifications to run so building up the Yukon has not been a high priority. Old tires are...

33's on Silverado with 2" Level Kit, Possible???

Yes and no. Some trucks and SUVs they fit just fine with a 2" level/lift some they do not. 2005 Escalade with torsion bars cranked to the max, perfect fit and no rubbing with 285/70R17 (33x11.5") 2007 Yukon XL with 2" level:/same rims and tires slight rubbing with minimal trimming required...
