    Looking good!! I've recently bought a 1989 460 SWB (280GE), already pulled the engine out to do the OM606/722.6 conversion. Have you swapped the injection pump on the 606 to a 603 pump to get rid of the electronics?

    I've got one of these on my 110.. great bit of kit.... But.... the plastic dampening slide tube thing has got lots of muck in it over the last couple of years, so whenever you open/close the door you get a horrible screech noise... must strip and clean it out soon. it sounds horrid!

    Looking good! The UK isn't too bad at the moment.... slight frost here in Wiltshire this morning, some bad weather due this week up North (Scotland-ish) but nothing too bad.... certainly not like this time last year! When you get over here, give me a shout if you want to stop by for a brew...

    TD5 or 300TDI into a NAS D2?

    just to add my $0.2 into the mix..... If you wanted to go full Td5 route, either get a defender or discovery bulkhead wiring loom with it, then you can graft it into your disco. The defender loom is simpler, so might be easier to join up to the existing wiring.

    I was about to say "why have you got an a/R bar on a 109???" as my old 109 I used to have, I might as well have welded the axle to the chassis the springs were that stiff! but then I saw you had parabolics. I've just fitted A/R bars front and back to my 110 Td5, it's got an external cage...

    Take a look at Defender2.net, there's plent of sob stories (and also good stories) of Puma 2.4 ownership. There are a LOT, of differential, brake vacuum pump and paintwork issues. not to mention clutches & gearboxes/flywheels.

    ^^^^^ Same as that, on my 110, the dipped it "sideways", more than enough holes to let the zinc drain out.

    They did do a DII in commercial trim as well.(and freelander) You're right, there are good tax breaks for company car users who drive a "van" instead of a car. example: my works car is a Mitsubushi shogun (Pajero outside of the UK) SWB "4work", externally, it looks just like a normal shogun...

    :oops::oops: I totally forgot about the GS's!! yup, you'r right, looks like one of those. I used to have a CL.... biggest pile of poo i ever owned. soft top, painted in cammo, but civvy lights and chassis. Rusted away in the end!

    A quick glance it looks like a 109" FFR (judging by the HD front spring mounts) but it's missing the TUAAM boxes on the wings and the side antenna mounts. the 109" FFRs were all 24volt (lights and engine too) and were full military spec (like the sidelights/indicators that the above one has)...
