Is it safe to tow a 1998 Montero using a tow bar? I will be disconnecting the rear drive line . Is it safe to leave the front shaft attached? Trans in neutral?

Have you checked you vacuume line off the intake manifold ? Drivers side if it comes loose or is cracked it will not disengage

When I bought it I replaced the timing belt , tensioner and cam seals . A few years later replaced the valve guide seals due to smoke after idle. Will need front rotors and pads due to warped rotors. Radiator has a pinhole leak near the filler cap . Sealed with jb weld hasn’t leaked since...

Check the vacuum line on the driver side of the intake manifold . It's a small 1/4" line I think . Goes directly to the solenoid on differential.

Does the 2000 sport xls have the locker and 4.90 gears?
