Not a ham user (yet) but with cb I use a magnetic mount and am very happy with it. In parking garages I just stop and lay it down to avoid the clanging/smacking and when I leave just pick it up and it's a strong mount.
If your hunting for gen 1 remember dodge sold it as well. I've gotten a few parts from dodge dealers, often much quicker than what the mitsu dealer could offer and exceptionally cheaper.
All of them, and electrical tape. If you know how to use them you'll never be stranded in a Montero. Personally I found the most annoying thing about carrying the majority of my tools was how I carried them. Once I got a med. sized box with sliding drawers it felt better than a bag, although...
I wouldn't put the 4Runner above a Montero on reliability, and while the land cruiser is an amazing platform I don't thing it would be a good choice for Mexico. They are heavy, expensive, big (depending on which generation you choose), but above all others they are stand out. A nastalgic 78'...

hey guys so I've been having oil leak problems on my 3.0 it had a major leak which turned out to be the driver side cam shaft seal. After taking It a mechanic (because I was to afraid to change it myself) I got a good 12k out of it in 3 months, but it never quite felt right. 3 weeks and about 3k...
My 89 V6 Montero developed a nasty oil leak recently. Everything was fine until I changed the oil and switched from my usual Valvoline Next Gen, to Castrol (something or other.) I hopped on the highway and drove about 20 miles then stopped at a gas station and saw a pool of black under my car...
O, also before the leak I had been running Nextgen 50/50 oil (that recycled stuff). My last oil change, Thursday, was with Castrol conventional which I think could have had something to do with it (open for debate of course).
