I get it, that makes a lot of sense. I have seen these crew boxes and ambo boxes for sale by themselves, there's definitely an opportunity there to bolt one onto a crew cab truck. But, that's a lot more work than adding a prefab camper.
Hey this thing is pretty cool, I always wondered about a fire buggy vs. an ambo build. What's the new project direction you're going in? Did it come down to seating? I'm looking to fit a family of 4, seems like a crew cab would be best, but those might not exist with the crew box. I saw a crew...

Hey that looks like a good fit for the price. Simple! That LED unit has a bunch of cooling fins on the back, I’d give them some airflow to work with. Cutting a big rectangle out of the back of the housing would be best. Or swiss cheese the back with a big drill bit. Heat kills LEDs, especially...
Those LEDs linked are 75watt. I’d be less concerned with the Whelen lens/housing, and more concerned about the actual LED light/circuit board. I’ve had some fry themselves due to insufficient venting. They’ve got aluminum fins on the back, so as long as those have airflow (big cutout in the...
There may be heat issues without adequate venting for the LED light. You’ll likely need to make some holes in the existing reflector or just cut most of it away.
A lot of times belts don’t retract that well because of oil and dirt making the belt stiff from where it’s been worn. Pull belt all the way out, clamp off so it can’t retract, soak in cleaning bowl, scrub, repeat, dry. It can really bring them back to life sometimes.
