Curious... where do you guide hunts in NM?
I am now right over the border in Pagosa Springs.
Long, long story... but yes, I have entered heaven on earth...
I just ripped out the Dometic 75L dual zone and put the Engel 40L back in. I have an Engel 22 quart arriving on Friday that will be a freezer. Those Engels are very durable and low-power draw.
I don't have any experience with Nat'l Luna but have heard they are very good.
Beautiful truck there!
I built up a 2006 DoubleCab. I have a thread on here but many of the pics no longer show up. Here's a video:
^ Since the video was made, I have replaced the Dometic fridge. Going with twin Engels instead.
That skid plate is great. You may need some spacers eventually...
I would look at one of the smaller Engels.
I just put my 40L Engel back in the truck and have a 22L arriving this week. I'll use the 22 as a freezer in the truck, but it is 38 lbs. and has a small footprint making it very easy to move to other vehicles in the fleet or inside the cabin as may...
I have one in a small off-grid cabin. Not bad in terms of noise at all. Definitely not a sleep disturbance.
Engels are incredibly efficient. Very durable. Beautiful in their simplicity.
At my off-grid cabin I (stupidly) neglected to place a cooler inside while I ran out for a very quick errand. Left it on the picnic table. Came back in 20 minutes and had a bear ransacking it. It was almost like he was eyeing it from a perch and pounced the minute I left.
Sent mine packin' yesterday. So long...
That sticker fix is lame beyond words. At the very least offer to send a new DC cord with an inexpensive diode???
I really wish it worked out. Some good design work for a dual zone. Great app (although others struggled with it). Total energy hog though...
dreadlocks is a very knowledgeable dude :)
He knows a lot more than I do.
But I think we may be confusing a series and parallel architecture here....
Lots of good info and videos on these topics via web search. You'd be looking at a simple parallel connection via branch connectors.
I have a 160w and 100w feeding into the same Renogy Rover MPPT controller. Runs fine.
The controller only knows how much you are pumping into it. It has no idea what is connected. It's not like a node on a computer/server system with an IP link, or even a serial link.
The multi-panel...
Correct.
Or many people will just connect it to AC power while sitting in the driveway because they want to get the freezer really cold before a big trip without unduly taxing your solar system. This would be especially true of the new dual zones because:
a) You buy a dual zone to get freezer...
