I'm about to do the same, except Espar vs Webasto only because I happen to live close to a very knowledgable Espar dealer/installer. Don't want to carry propane tank, rules out the truma.
I keep going back and forth on 2kw vs 4kw. I'm concerned that the 4kw version may be too much with mild...
Anyone with an F150 bolt their camper replacing the clamps?
I'd asked Jay at install, he decided not to. I'm certainly not a pro, but looks like I could probably make it work, I'd love to get the clamps out of the living space.
Thanks all for weighing in.
I'm not seeing much of advantage to the more expensive panels, sounds like the Renogy Black will be my choice.
And thanks for the other suggestions, the Renogy panels just happen to fit my needed dimensions really well.
I fully appreciate the disadvantages of flexible panels, yet that is my favored option for mounting to the top of my truck pop top camper for weight and clearance concerns.
The three options I've identified based on size available;
1. 2 x Renogy 100 Watt 12 Volt Black Division Lightweight...
Awesome!
Thanks for the response, sounds like a great rig!
I'm new to suspension upgrades and am feeling overwhelmed and out of my league, currently sitting stock as '21 F150 Screw 6.5, 2cd attempt at camper delivery next weekend. Thank you for the details on your rig, I'll likely go similar...
Thank you for the pics, looks great!
We have a similar build on an identical truck! We ended up requesting L track instead of 80/20, I think the spacing will be nearly the same and I bet the mounting will be similar.
Our delivery was postponed 1 mo, hopefully in two weeks.
What lights did...
I really like that awning. I'm still not sure that we are awning people and will probably just stick with awning track on sides and back for now, can always have awning mounted in the future if we find we are missing it. Also forced to park on the street and want a minimum of camper stuff...
Thanks, that is helpful. I will probably go the L track route on the outside.
80/20 buildout on the inside, bedrails will be unistrut per recent changes, I'm ambivalent, figure I can always change in future as needed.
Thanks for the rec on the PP vent. I've eyed your build and tried to steal...
Same question. Did you make a decision?
I'm thinking the bottom rail 1-2inch from the bottom (the lowest they can go) and the top rail about even with the top of the front hatch, (not sure what that would measure out to). I'd like to optimize good spacing, but not so high that difficult to reach.
This thread has been very helpful, thank you
I'm currently finalizing our build, F150 6.5 bed.
Question:
I was going to have Jay mount some exterior rails on one or both sides of the camper towards the back, I will have hatches near the front and 1/2 barn doors at the back.
What is the...
