2003 Tahoe Build - Family Overland Rig

Nice setup. How do yo address the gearing for the front drivetrain having changed the rear from the, I guess, 3.73 axle ratio? I may not be familiar with the mechanics but it would seem that your front and rear wheel rotation would be different while in 4WD. We have an '01 1/2-ton model, and...

HOW DID YOU SET UP YOUR TRUCK CAP / CAMPER ?

We're thinking that the truck cap/camper is a viable alternative to setting up an "overland" rig. They're affordable, customizable, and well, a lot of us have pickup trucks. How did you set up your truck cap/camper? 1. What's your primary purpose of your rig and setup? (how long do you...

Ten questions for someone considering a Four Wheel Pop Camper

We are considering purchasing a Four Wheel Popup Camper for our Chevrolet 1/2 pickup truck. The model that would fit is their Hawk model. Considering that there will be no room in the bed and no truck bed tool box anymore, and as a potential buyer, I have the following questions: 1) Where...

2005 Silverado 6.0L, heading to Argentina.

You mentioned you had your truck re-geared to 4.88 with a locker. This would be for the rear axle. What did you do or what parts did you use to re-gear the front, assuming your truck is 4WD? Thanks.

What are you using for a coffee maker and coffee brand when camping/overlanding?

Coffee options: Time and number of people drinking I write this for all of my fellow coffee lovers out there. I've tried many, many different ways to make coffee while camping, hunting, and adventuring on the road. In coming up with a system, I realized that there are several factors to be...

    Truck topper question--leer browning edition

We're looking at truck camper shells now, and A.R.E. seems to be better in terms of quality and manufacturing. The next would be Leer and Snugtop. The rear gate options and hinges are an issue as well as overall construction especially around the windows. Let us know what you decide to buy.

Mr heater buddy heaters in tents overnight

If you're worried, then don't use one. We've been using propane heaters in tents for years for winter camping. Just make sure you leave a tent flap rolled up and partially open before you go to sleep. Before the Mr. Heater "Buddy" heaters, we were using the one and two-burner simple heaters...

The Next evolution in truck camper/tent tops

Will you sell your support rack separately? This would be good for folks wanting to mount a roof rack and or a roof top tent. It would be great if you could have insulated tent material or at least the poly/cotton material that most roof top tents are made of these days. Whatever material you...

M416 EXPEDITION 1/4-TON MILITARY OFF-ROAD EXPO TRAILER WITH AIR-LIFTED ROOF TOP TENT

I'll have to get back to you on that one. Basically it's the weight of a RTT, annex room, and an empty M416 trailer. We've pulled it fully loaded very easily with an FJ40 with a straight six cylinder engine, a Volvo XC90 with 2.5L, and a full-size Chevrolet truck.
