Well, I plan to go to Overland Expo next year. And everybody knows that a REAL expo rig will have a snorkel. I want to be taken seriously. So I am in the market for a snorkel for my short bus camper.
I'm thinking an inflatable model, that attaches with magnets. That way, when the show's...
Weldtech sells a 4" front suspension setup w custom valved Fox 2.0 shocks for $1500. With a 3" rear block you can fit 255/85 33" tires w/o spacers on your OEM wheels. Lift blocks and u-bolts are available online.
I used to camp with my young kids quite often. The rig I have now would have made that so much easier. You could always do what I did; pick up a surplus short bus, install the lift and tires, and then build the inside to suit your needs. I think my signature has a link to a thread that...
The response you received from me was in response to the tone of your post. I didn't start this thread to debate the merits of various witches. I started it to post a coupon for anyone who chose to buy this winch. You apparently didn't grasp this, and came off as an arrogant brick. Just...
Well, I don't know if this is helpful or not, but this is what I did.
I found some canvas like material that I thought would work for curtains at my local Walmart. Where else? I cut it out a little larger than the window, and fold over the side and sewed them up for finished edge. I then...
Here is a question for TRD Ryan:
What shocks could you recommend for 12,500 pound E–450 based short bus running on potholed and washboard FS roads? OEM (soft) springs with spacers and blocks for lift.
I'm thinking a 2.5 set up with medium/firm valving and possibly a flutter stack on the...
Oh...my...gosh. Yew must be purty smart. Only a genius could figure out how to put a snatch block on a winch line. I got news for you Einstein, it won't make your 9K Chinese Warn winch pull like a 12K Badlands which.
Nope, you add a snatch block and hook the line back to your bumper and...
Reading thru an NRA rag the other day and ran across this coupon. Good until Nov 11. This has GOT to be the best winch deal out there. These things get really good reviews, and usually sell for $350-400. I took a pic of the coupon, you can save it on your phone, walk into the store and read...
Yup, would be cool. However, 255s are gonna be an oddball size NOT widely available in backwater places, and a 285 is too wide for your skinny little 6" dually front wheel. Which means removing dually adapter hub up front and installing a conventional hub, so you can fit an 8 inch wide wheel...
Yeah, along the river, and with two tires on each side there is such a wide footprint it just doesn't seem to sink. I would not even think about going to singles on the rear. I was worried about the front end, but it seems as if 265 is wide enough to keep it afloat
Again, given what my...
There is plenty of clearance for everything that needs to happen. If there weren't, I never would have posted this thread.
That said, there is NO clearance between the top of the toilet and the inside of the lid. A soft cloth laid on top of the toilet before closing the lid might be a good...
I outfitted a short bus for boondocking. One stipulation of my better half was the presence of a proper toilet, as she has to pee all the time and doesn't like to squat in the weeds. I didn't really want one in the bus...but I do like having her along (she likes to get nekkid outside) so I had...
F350 axles are stout and fine up front. I also have a 7.3L F350. Damn tough truck. 265/235 combo is workin out fine for me. And I have been thoughly testing this. My bus gets a workout, and has gone places you wouldn't expect...and this with duals and an open diff... at 12,500lbs.
