Looking at Discovery 2's...what should I be prepared for??

Just do it...yeah they're unreliable and quirky, but they are still my favorite truck out there. My first wheeling truck was a 1999 DII that I modified with 4" lift and 33s. I then had a Series IIA on 33s and traded the DII for a new JK first on 32s, then 34s, then 37s. Sold the Jeep and...

Looking at Discovery 2's...what should I be prepared for??

Great statement. I totally agree. 32s, mild lift, some protection, a winch, and lockers can get you most places.

Looking at Discovery 2's...what should I be prepared for??

I hear you. I did all the work on my Series IIA and had to sell it this year so that I could do other things in my life. It just took up too much time.

Looking at Discovery 2's...what should I be prepared for??

Sounds like you need to find a new mechanic. When I traded my 1999 DII, I had just put a ton of money into it and nothing was fixed. The estimates were too high to keep investing in it, and it was my daily driver at the time. Come to find out, had I stayed with my old mechanic near my old...

Looking at Discovery 2's...what should I be prepared for??

    Fire Extinguisher

I highly recommend these simple non-toxic Tundra fire extinguishers. They are simple to store like a can of spray paint. They can fit in door pockets, glove boxes or use the small quick fist clamps. I keep 2 in my wheeling trucks...

1970 Land Rover Series IIA - R380 Disc Brakes Rear Locker

Todd - Yeah, a bit ill-informed. The 33s turn just fine with the 2.25 It's surprisingly peppy. And no, it doesn't have a Salisbury axle. Stock rear series axle with D1 rear ARB locking differential.
