    Simpson Desert.

Not sure what your truck is registered as, but if over 4.5 tonne then it comes under National Heavy Vehicle rules. ATW carried out their testing (including brake testing) to get approval to run their wheels etc using the 285 tyres and this is stamped on the compliance plate. While this may...

    Isuzu LSD Binding/Grinding Noise

Had the same thing with my 2016 FGB, particularly after its 1st service when Fuso put the wrong oil in. Made some scary noises but eventually fixed with friction modifiers (Mitsubishi have the right oil) as others indicated above. Still occasionally binds but nothing frightening. All Terrain...

My New Fuso FGB71 All Terrain Warriors "Universal Warrior" Slide on Mega Camper

I was asked a question about fuel economy recently.....on the weekend (our first outing after being allowed freedom!) we drove from Sydney to Lithgow and back. Took about 5 hours driving time all up. The Mrs drive (I cant yet due to injury) and on the way I noticed the fuel usage (which I have...

    NPS300_TRUK camper progress

Hi Macca, Yeah heaps of room and a bloody big bed! I have two 210 A/h Full River AGM batteries in parallel so technically 420 A/h (which is really about 250 ~ 280 A/h available I guess). With that I run a National Luna 67 litre freezer at -23, an Isotherm 85 litre upright fridge, and when on a...

    NPS300_TRUK camper progress

Hi Macca, Your truck looks good. Very nice lines. One thing I found with mine (its also a pop top with scissor lift and electric rams) is that the metal surround around the roof that captures the vynal material sides tends to get very hot in hot conditions and I've had ice forming on it (and...

    Buying a Fuso canter 4x4

Hi James...."what do I mean"?....where do I start....I heavily modified a Ducati 900 many years ago, but with every increase in power came another problem to solve, the clutch couldn't take it, the cush drive that holds the sprocket sheared bolts so I strengthened them but that transferred the...

My New Fuso FGB71 All Terrain Warriors "Universal Warrior" Slide on Mega Camper

Sorry Grant, didn't see your question until just now...... I'm still getting about 5.7 km/l fuel usage, she's done just over 80000 km. Recently we were getting highway miles on a trip from Sydney to Melbourne of 6 km/l but that was on the freeway, night time driving with the Mrs at the wheel...

    Buying a Fuso canter 4x4

I have to ask...what is your budget? you might be surprised at what you can get that's already been "done" properly. I have found in life that often, modifications always lead to some other problem and you spend all your time and hard work solving things with good money going after bad...

    Fuso Diff breather extensions.

Don't know how you ended up going with shocks, but I got Brad Zacca (now retired from Kings but still about) to build and fit some Kings shocks front and rear to my FGB-71 and fitted a Timbren bump stop kit that allows about a 2" air gap so the shocks can do their thing at the front. I had to...

    Torklift Glowstep Revolution Uprising Steps

I had an aluminium step made that is bolted to the door entrance on two hinges. The steps themselves fold neatly in half and then the whole lot swings back into the door entrance space when not in use. Far better than fiddling around with the extendable Torklift things I first tried and much...

A shocking Rancho report and plea for other shocks (Sachs?)

Try brad at Kings Shocks in Loganholme. They will build anything you need, the warranty and particularly the after sales service fantastic. Not cheap but if you want cheap go for something that will fail.

My New Fuso FGB71 All Terrain Warriors "Universal Warrior" Slide on Mega Camper

Time for an update! I have made some forward progress in improving the ride. The elephant in the room however is still the short front spring length on the later model Fuso Canters. Without moving the mounts and fitting much longer springs it will always be a bit harsh. Last month I went up to...

Chip for 5.2l Isuzu nps 300

I just removed my DP Chip and got my 3 LITRE Fuso re-mapped by Diesel Tune Australia at Mascot. It is much smoother, far better power and torque across the whole range and really transformed it. The guy I dealt with seems to really know his stuff and is in big demand. He gave me about 80-90%...

Has anyone use turdoglide in woolongong

I used them to service my old 1997 1HZ Land cruiser as it had a turbo fitted by them. They also replaced a fuel pump once. They run a very organised workshop and accommodate travellers. I recon you would be in safe hands going with them.
