John, I have a 1/4 ton Jeep trailer. It's a 1966 Stevens Military trailer. I have fully restored it within the last year. Zero miles towed. Frame power coated every nut and bolt change to Grade 8 hardware. Custom lid fabricated too many Mods to list. I can ship to California.
Let me know if...
Can you tell me how long you extended the front cross bars. We're these just Box Beams or square tubing? What's the lenght from end to end.
Thanks in advance,
Ken
Thanks Wayne, I follow a lot of threads on m416 builds and yours & your brothers is one of the best. I plan on copying your tailgate mod later this year. Thanks for the advice on the reinforcement around the corners. I'll keep that in mind.:)

Another Tailgate Question
Wayne, thanks for getting back with me about the tailgate Mod. One more question, did put in a cable on the tailgate? Or do you allow it to hang down? I seen the bumper stops you installed. Didn't know if they were for the tailgate to rest on or not.
Ken,
Really nice trailer, I've tossed around the idea of putting a tailgate in my for a while. I was to give up on it when I seen yours. Can you tell me what kind of hinges you used on the bottom of the tailgate?
Thanks in advance,
Ken
I'll second the request for hand brake Assy. My m416 came without one. The PO removed everyhing. I'm looking for a replacement. Anybody out there that might have one that you would like to sell. Please let me know.
Thanks, Ken

When I purchased my 1966 m416 the previous owner had removed the hand brake and all the rigging. I am looking for another one to purchase and install on my build. If any other builders don't plan on using theirs please contact me. I know some companies sell some of the parts but they are nickel...
Very nice lid, I have never seen construction like that on a home made lid. You must have bought it. Could you supply me with any details on it.
Thanks in advance,
Ken
