    Subaru XV Crosstrek

People (including me) have been doing this for years with Subarus. Here's a photo from Ultimatesubaru.org (not mine)

    Multi-Purpose Subaru Trailer

Here's some more of the build: I built this floor out of a sheet of 4'x8'x5/8" inch plywood, plus some scrap plywood glued together with Titebond III (which is AMAZING wood glue, by the way). Then I started building 2' high sides with 1/8" oak plywood and 2"x2"s. For my first woodworking...

    Multi-Purpose Subaru Trailer

Oh, I've got more build photos that I'll post here once I stop being lazy. And by the way, my trailer box is 5'4" wide and 7' long, which in my opinion was the perfect size. Easy to weave through dense traffic while passing through cities to visit breweries, small enough for easily navigating...

    Painting trailer

Rolling on paint is much cheaper, easier, faster, and in my experience much higher quality than a rattlecan job.

    Multi-Purpose Subaru Trailer

I don't have a closeup of the shock hoops at the moment, but how the attach to the frame is fairly solid. It took me a couple days to do some strange angles and tons of mockups with those bars. Basically, they are welded down the outside of the frame AND across the top. This way with a load...

    Multi-Purpose Subaru Trailer

Now the fun part, dealing with the coilovers! So the shocks on the subframe wouldn't fit my tires under them, but I wanted those shocks and those tires, so I decided to build some custom coilovers with the help of ebay.. I bought 2 no-name 12"x2.5" 200lb/in coilover springs off ebay for $40...

    Multi-Purpose Subaru Trailer

Haha, I'll tell my buddy that he's getting some props for his torch skills. The hitch receiver tube was not extended to the frame, as we thought that the extra weight and cost would not be worth it. We did some minor reinforcing (gussets) on the tongue later, which I'll detail. And about the...

    Multi-Purpose Subaru Trailer

I recruited my welding/machinist buddy to help me with this project, as two people would make this build much easier and more fun. I think I should note here that the tools that we used for this build were probably the most basic metalworking/woodworking tools possible. And it was all done in...

    Multi-Purpose Subaru Trailer

A little background on this build first. I was planning on moving from AK to CO with my girlfriend, and wanted to drive my Subaru down with all of our stuff. Problem is, even with a small amount of stuff, the Suby is simply not big enough to haul everything down by itself, so I planned a...

Regular, 5 speed manual wagon. OBS has approx 0.75" taller springs (and came stock with slightly bigger tires than normal wagons). So no reason to pick an OBS over a normal wagon.

Here's my Impreza navigating some exciting Alaskan terrain in a couple adventures of mine. Crossing a river to head home from a few nights of camping: Stopping on the Dalton Hwy to pick some blueberries on the way back from an Arctic Circle camping adventure: This is on a non-lifted Impreza...

    LED off road lights

I would love to see someone check out and compare the 125mm 2000 lumen $60 spots from ddmtuning: http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/LED-Work-Lamp They seem like an amazing deal, I'm just not sure if the 20 degree "spot" pattern vs the 45 degree flood pattern will be tight enough of a beam..

    1990 Legacy found on c-list

I'm fairly sure 99% of Subaru enthusiasts hold the EJ22 as the most reliable engine ever. ESPECIALLY on the older Legacys, because those engines are non-interference, which means if you mess up the installation of your timing belt, or it blows while you're driving (highly unlikely), the engine...
