I tend to agree. Although at events it's been a huge hit. It's kinda like the funky grills. I'd never put a angry looking grill on my jeep but they sell like crazy! The J8 Troop Carrier did amazing on the drive across country. It hit 115 on a flat straight away Lol.

The Thrasher badge is dead. That build still exists but under a different name. This JK/J8 will be a separate vehicle in addition to the Jankel Wrangler Alpha, Bravo or Kilo. It's true that the frame and some body parts are a bit different on the J8 but overall it's the same vehicle. 3 door...

I would say that the camouflaged jeep is more of a mule than a preproduction Jeep pick up. I was told by a friend inside Wrangler there were a few "Jeep pickups" floating around inside but we're only mules and kinda a mess. This was a few weeks ago at Unlimited Off-Road Expo.

We've all heard that the JL will have the diesel option but what about real use as a truck. The Brute is not a truck and therefore can't really haul or tow. I'm hoping the JL truck will have real world use. There is a Jeep truck made already that can tow and haul unlike a Jeep. The J8 Quad-Cab.

Rumor has it being called a few things so for now I just say Civilian J8 Wrangler. It is huge news. I had a J8 out in Moab this year for EJS.

The 3 door Jeep will be built in SC for civilian use. A hand full of them are currently on order. The j8 shown above is a border patrol vehicle. That jeep is outfitted with a package designed for a particular application. Many J8's in this design are used in Africa.

There is a dirty rumor that at this time 5 vehicles are being assembled on a civilian platform for possible civilian sale. These are based on a JK but mimicking the J8. Long wheelbase, soft top, 2 and 5 passenger, leaf springs and coils, Dana 60 & 44.
