In Support of a Household 120V Fridge in a Camper?

Some truth... I have been using my magic chef 4.4 cubic foot fridge in my home built trailer 100% of the time for almost 4 years. The inverter is always on. 12v DC system. Including the load from the inverter, it pulls 5.5 to 6.5 amps on the DC side while running. I added a child lock from...

Building a fully enclosed Overland trailer to be towed by a Jeep

10 series. The coffee machine works great but it is BIG. My Nespresso mini finally KTB after 4 years of off road abuse. The L'OR also makes full cups of ☕️ so it stays.

Building a fully enclosed Overland trailer to be towed by a Jeep

Kitchen is coming along. Job situation caused us to not to our big Mexico trip this year so I took some time for some upgrades. Today I laid out the drinking water system using the same type of jug I use for Grey water with a little USB pump. I also tied down the coffee machine, velcroed in the...

    Custom Extrusions for FRP Panels

I made DIY composite panels with mitered edges. I used aluminum angle on the outside and 80/20 on the inside. The inside framing provides the base for all of the inside structure. So, it essentially is an internal roll cage. Anywhere that the framing is connected to the walls is 3M VHB tape. In...

Building a fully enclosed Overland trailer to be towed by a Jeep

Well, I decided to make some more enhancements based on usage. I spent more than 50 nights in the trailer last year and learned a few things. The 3 things I am currently working on are. 1. Bench space 2. Indoor water/grey water 3. Freezer (just big enough for some frozen meat. And...because...

    Chassis Design

Until you put stabilizer Jack's down... single axle trailers do not really twist a whole lot from the loads that come from the ground. If you use jacks, level the trailer first and just use the jacks to keep the cabin from rockin... For construction, everyone has already pointed out the two...

Building a fully enclosed Overland trailer to be towed by a Jeep

I went back on my no propane idea. I still use the induction but it is necessary to have fire during fire season. I got a little propane fire pit, a Coleman 2 burner and an 11 gallon tank. I also added starlink. 40 nights so far this year.

Building a fully enclosed Overland trailer to be towed by a Jeep

This is the first time I have deployed the full kit. Fun fact: it got down to around 30 degrees Saturday night. With just body heat, we had to keep the vent open to keep it cool. 30 outside, 57 inside.

Front profile preferences- flat or angled?

I do not have a good answer for my poor decision. :) Honestly, there was a reason but I can't remember it anymore and the cons far outweigh the pros. Now it is just a discussion piece at camp.
