Advanced DIY Camper Build on ARE DCU Platform

Good luck with this! I have an ARE topper used for work on a Ford ranger with a lot of off-road Miles's well. 200,000 miles / 8 years and everything is still holding up very well.

One rig to rule them all

You commuter is 'approaching 300k', it may be around a while but it will leave the party eventually. Drive it until then and keep mileage down on the other vehicles. It will be nice to have the truck as a backup to drive when something happens to the commuter, even if it's only down for...

Gladiator Pop-Up Pass Through Camper Build

Nice choice! I have Dewalts small pruning chainsaw, stays under the seat. They really cut better than one would expect, quiet, easy to grab and use. They do tend to leak oil however.

Gladiator Pop-Up Pass Through Camper Build

On a build several years ago, on a pickup, I built to allow the tailgate to remain while using double rear doors. This allowed easy access through one door with the option of full width bed access as well. I could load an atv with both doors open. I enjoyed the tailgate "porch". I also like the...

Tire replacement: All Terrain or Highway?

Coopers are great tires! An all season vs all terrain will likely meet your needs just fine, that's what my Dad runs without any trouble. (similar use, also coastal Carolina). You could look to pick up a set of light tire cables as insurance.

    NT 5X8 Aluminum Trailer?

Upgrading axle, tongue, and adding on to the sides will likely cost as much when done as buying a heavier more suitable trailer from the start.

    "Squatchpod" -squaredrop camper build

What an awesome trailer! Not only functional but eye catching as well. I had one similar years ago. After seeing this, now I may have to build another! On the chilly part. I have found it to be far warmer and more comfortable to use a foam mattress rather than air. The trifold type beds are...

    Horse or stock trailer conversions...

For years I used a 12 foot stock trailer, then a 16 foot aluminum goose neck, as dual purpose trailers. Horses were hauled and unloaded then the trailer used to camp in. The 12 footer was very basic, a box to put cots in. The 16 foot gooseneck with two compartments allowed for building out the...

I really enjoy your updates. Both the truck projects and the trip reports. Beautiful trout! and the scenery is spectacular. Your area is now on my "visit one day" list A couple questions; I am intrigued by your ice fishing reports. No opportunity here in Georgia for that, but it may be an...
