How do you judge reliability?
I have a 1995 Defender 90 with over 220k on it, it's reliable but sometime needs help but is extremely fixable in the field.
hey you can rebuild the distributor on the side of the road,a nd replace the panhard bush's in 20 minutes (also on the side of the road)...
Best advice for use in the USA, is just use the grocery store plastic bags that your groceries come in... they are free and nobody looks at you sideways when you stuff them in whatever garbage can you see (gas stations, public ones, wherever..)
I just store them in the wheel bag or a box on...
I am waiting to see it in person and for the hype to die down a bit, but I am on the list at the local dealer (no deposit), and hopefully will see one in person when they first arrive.
I am excited for it, but also not planning on replacing my 200 series as well... they are different.
It will...
Yeah already know I need to replace the motor and Tranny... it has 300k on it and a phaser issue that I know of. So to get it to a point where it is reliable enough for me use on the trips I'll replace the motor. It seems like the VCT is the main issue with the 5.4 3v, and normal other stuff any...
I'm inheriting one, and was thinking of using it as my main Rig for trips...
And was looking for some input on bumpers, sliders, and a lift ... This stuff will be after I replace the motor and transmission...
Nice build!! My 200 is also setup to sleep in the back and live out to. Nothing better than waking up, doing a quick breakfast and hitting the road minutes later :).
not sure if it still relevant but - you can use the Slee Assesory tray to mount anything that will fit. Really even the passenger side front where the 2nd battery goes is big enough for some compressors.
Not sure if an Oasis will fit...
Really wish there was a way to do a belt driven...
I am putting in an ARB dual on a slee mount - but you could use something like and extreme air or Viair on the Slee Accessory mount for the passenger side.
there are plenty of options for placing them if you get creative, but most of the mounts are made for the ARB..
ARB uses MAP pricing so...
FWIW… I today realized I have not shut off my fridge in the Land Cruiser for about a month.. I work at home and some days don’t drive, others like today 20 minutes or so..
power is via a Renogy 100ah lithium (the Bluetooth model) with a redarc 1240d DCDC charger.
not representative of your loads...
