    Aluminum Clam Shell RTTs

Just wanted to attach a couple photos of the stainless hardware that we use and what one customer has described as "rust" - again this is just the surface rust that I described in my post above. This is what some have described as "rusty hardware" - this in no way affects the durability...

    Aluminum Clam Shell RTTs

I wanted to comment on the stainless hardware on our Falcons. We're using 304 stainless steel - this is a very common "grade" of stainless used in many hardware use-cases. 304 will sometimes develop "surface rust". The chromium in the 304 stainless gets oxidized at the surface of the hardware...

    Roofnest's new Sandpiper Rooftop Tent

Designed in the USA but our factory is in China - we're exploring stateside manufacturing and it's certainly a hope that we'll be able to bring it onshore someday. For now, I'm really stoked on the quality and workmanship we've been able to achieve at our existing factory!

    Roofnest's new Sandpiper Rooftop Tent

Any set of crossbars will attach to the two rails - we sell a couple varieties but there are several that will work. For instance these Malone crossbars.

    Roofnest's new Sandpiper Rooftop Tent

We have this in the works - there are a few design considerations on our end which we want to achieve so our design process is a little more lengthy than it might seem it should be. Stay tuned and thanks for the question!

    Roofnest's new Sandpiper Rooftop Tent

Yes - there is always a balance of needs.... low profile to fit inside garages and improve gas mileage but less room for storage. You are correct that bedding can be stored when laid flat with pillows at rear (or front). There is a rounded shape to the lower, middle section of the top so there...

    Roofnest's new Sandpiper Rooftop Tent

Thanks for the offer! We do have an ambassador program but we don't hand out tents - if you'd like to pitch us, email corey@roofnest.com but fair warning, we only offer discounts on purchases based on social media following, engagement, etc etc. We're a small company and these tents are not cheap!

    Roofnest's new Sandpiper Rooftop Tent

Lol - well, most hard shell RTT manufacturers are working within a pretty small window of design alternatives (two shells, tent material between, aerodynamic) so they are all reminiscent of each another at the end of the day. We're pretty excited with how the Sandpiper turned out - and we're...

    Roofnest's new Sandpiper Rooftop Tent

Yes - It's very similar to our Sparrow X tent - but the construction, materials, and features are all brand new. Here's the new Sandpiper: Here's the Sparrow X: Getting the roof rack to sit level was a big goal of the design, as well as retaining the aerodynamics. And then just beefing it...

    Roofnest's new Sandpiper Rooftop Tent

Hey everybody, always psyched to be able to share something big and we just released our new hardshell RTT today - the Sandpiper. This is a fully re-designed and re-engineered version of our popular Sparrow X. The racks and all flanges and backing are aluminum. The shell is a...

    Short bed, long hard-shell RTT

Just have to chime in here.... Roofnest is NOT another chinese knock-off. We have our own factory in China where we make a RTT that is different in almost every way from the knock-offs out there. Have several factories in China copied our designs, etc? - yes but that doesn't make us the...

    Anti-condensation mat?

Hey everyone - Tim here - Roofnest's owner. I am sourcing some anti-condensation matting for my tents - thinking about making this a standard feature. Would love to hear from you guys whether you think this would be a selling point for Roofnest's tents? The matting I'm sourcing is a really good...

    Roofnest Group Buy?

Yes sir! We certainly support our tents after the year is up - that first year will assure you that any problems with the tent will be fully covered. After that, we've got parts and know-how, etc and can help with any issues that come up to keep your Roofnest working well.

    Roofnest Group Buy?

You can leave gear, etc on top of the Sparrow X when opening/closing as long as you've got less than about 50 lbs on there. If you have more on top then opening/closing will be trickier and the struts may not keep the upper shell plus the load elevated - so you'd need to take some gear/toys off...
