I would also recommend getting an Ultra Gauge or Scan Gauge... something you can plug into the OBD port to get exact temps. Give you a little peace of mind. My coolant temps sit at 200-205 and don't go over 210-215 even when it's 110+ degrees outside here in PHX.
My alarm has been going off randomly if armed after an hour or two. I've been leaving a door unlocked so the factory alarm will not arm. Will have to check and see if doors are actually locking.

Got the Montero back from the mechanic today.
New plugs + wires, valve guide seals, lifters, all top end gaskets, motor mount, cracked manifold replaced, engine degreased. It's beautiful
No more sewing machine, it sounds like a proper V6
Can you share where you found A349MR? Right now on AU Ebay there's only 1 set and it's over 1k AUD. The single cat pacemaker headers (PH9360) are 575AUD plus shipping. With the exchange rate the way it is right now, that's tolerable vs buying new stock ones that will just crack.

Thanks for the info. Seems like the steering got really heavy today, like driving my grandpa's old F100. Hadn't driven the truck in a while so maybe I'm just so used to driving my tiny car. Will give it a go again this weekend and see how it feels.
