found this sticker on top of the transmission and started rubbing the dirt off (and with it, off came a few of the digits LOL) went to mitsubishipartswarehouse to cross reference it with the transmission for the 1989 V6 and the full number is MD733481. so, it appears that the 03-72 is the same...

I've got a low mile A/T apparently from a 89 V6 Raider (AW 03-72) and want to know if it is compatible with my 89 LWB Montero V6 AT(KM148). Here's the Aisin webpage referencing all 3 A/T's which seem to be the same but IDK.
