    Expedition Samurai Build

This truck is now for sale. Right now I just don't have the time or motivation to do this properly, and as a full time student I'm chronically short of the cash necessary for the type of trip this truck was being built for. Sometimes you just have to know when to step away from a project...

    88 Tintop for sale

I've decided to sell my tintop, as it is just not a practical car for the area I live in and I have lost interest in the project side of it. I've got too many other things that want my attention at the moment. Everything that has been done is a year old or less. Since I did the myside I can't...

    Looking for a Samurai-Questions

If you live in a city like me and have to parallel park everywhere the Sami is a great car. I hate driving on the hi way though. The ome lift is a big improvement for the ride and 235/75's make it look and perform really well. Parts are cheap and it is super easy to work on. I have the engine...

Nikon Nerds - today is the day...

The newest DX camera is the D7000 which is a great camera, the 700 is FX so you would need new lenses. Having shot a D300 and owning the D7000 for about a 9 months now I would pick the 7000 any day mostly because of the U1 and U2 modes which are really nice. There are a ton of reviews all over...

    Build thread photography

Working off of the fireside chat threat about what makes a good build thread, I thought it would be a good idea to start a what makes a good build thread photo. I imagine its easier with an extra person to shoot while one works, but as I do all my work by myself I'm at a bit of a loss as to how...

How many miles on your Samurai?

I have 156,000 or so on mine. Whenever I get around to finishing the engine and transmission rebuild the entire drivetrain will have basically no miles on it. The engine in it now will move the truck around town but over 45 is a struggle. The 4:16 tcase gears made a huge difference. Fortunately...

Kia Sorento - worth your consideration

I would not hesitate to drive a kia through Central America. Those and Hyundai's were really common, right behind toyotas. As long as one stay's on the main roads and isn't trying to bushwhack through the jungle it would be fine.

What is the longest expo you did in your Suzuki?

longest drive in mine so far is to the Ikea an hour and a half away. That was enough to convince me not to drive it on the interstate in heavily populated areas again unless I have no other option...

    Expedition Samurai Build

that's the plan, when I'm done doing the engine and transmission the only mechanical bits that will not have been rebuilt is the third members. All done by me.

    Expedition Samurai Build

Finished taking apart my new engine, which is now all prepped to go to the machine shop next month. I'm really glad I decided to rebuild this engine. As you can see from the pics, there is a ton of carbon on the pistons and in the intake chambers. The cylinders look good as do the...
