Thanks to @Burb One and his great thread on the 9.25 and 14 bolt swap. Here is the 'hoe' on her maiden voyage with the new running gear. Changed gearing as well to 410.
Yeah ... still attached. Making some quick disconnects for front and rear. Also just got a 14 bolt for the rear and a 9.25 for front and hope to get them installed next week.
Yep ... only a little bit of clearance as designed. Like you said ... maybe an inch? When you raise the truck, it raises that as well. The fix I posted is pretty widely used (and is actually a hack and not something a manufacturer specifically targeted to this application) to get back to that...
They are called jounce bumpers or stops and are an integral part of the torsion bar suspension ... they should almost touch. You can buy these ... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CN7CU6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and drill a hole in the lower "pad" on the control arm...
