Who has a stock 98-ish Cherokee Classic?

Here's the correct way to measure. http://www.mike-g.net/jeep/yinyang/tech/rideheight/

    Functional offroad exhaust mods

Actually, there's also this one. http://www.quadratec.com/products/image_zoom.php?img=%2FAssets%2FPhotos%2Fp17644c.jpg It's by Tomken and is about $90. There is, in most later-model XJs, a hard, dark gray or black material inside parts of the framerails. I don't know what its purpose was, but...

Converting the ac compressor to on board air

The Sanden on an R-134 system XJ should be the SD7H15, which based on my calculations puts out 4.92125 cfm. That should be plenty.

You can weld that joint on the intermediate shaft without affecting the collapsing feature.

polyurethane sway bar bushing size for XJ

If you don't have a caliper, use an adjustable wrench to get the size, then measure that gap with a mm. ruler.

Cherokee Forum got Hacked... I'm PO'd!

I have been a Mac convert for about eight years now and I love them. That said, all one has to do to functionally disable a Mac is delete the Fonts folder, as Mac's structure won't work without it.

First Fix on my new cherokee

Glad to hear it went so well. I wouldn't mind reading the basics of what you had to do as I've never done one, either, and mine is ten years old.

First Fix on my new cherokee

I know GoJeep's practically a god, but the problem was the higher-flow water pump, not the radiator. A good radiator will allow to flow what is pushed into it--it can't increase flow by itself. Edit: Also, radiatorbarn.com has the stock-type plastic/metal ones (if that's what you want) for...

Memorial Day Weekend in the UP

You can get them in most decent bookstores and your local library may have one as well. The (library) system I worked in had almost all of them, and the particular branch I worked in had Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana.

Memorial Day Weekend in the UP

I always love reading about and seeing pics. of your trips. I'm hoping to make it up there this summer for a little fun on the ORV routes and some fly fishing.

Some mild UK offroading in the snow

Nice. How's the green laning around London? I check in with offroading.net once in a blue moon. That has mostly UK members.

    Jeep Cherokee Motor Mounts

I have the Brown Dog polyurethane motor mounts. They're very strong--possibly too strong. If you use the skinny pedal a lot when 'wheeling and have strong poly mounts, you are likely putting more stress on the bolts that attach to the engine itself. I can't imagine trying to get those out if...

Weakest point in winch and rigging?

I know it's a bit late, but I figure since most of the posts were pretty off topic, no one will care. The weakest point in any winch rigging setup (so long as we're assuming that decent mounting points have been used and that no original parts have been replaced with non-original ones on the...

Where to purchase 3/4" Shackles WLL 6.5tons

You're right; they do sell some unrated ones--and they also sell little plastic farm animals and flower seeds. The ones I got there are rated for 6.5 tons WLL for ~$13.
