Hoping someone could give me expert advice on tire/rim size for driving in sand. I have stock 20” rims with 275/55 all weather tires. On sand I drop down to 18psi and do just fine on miles of beach driving in 4H. This year we will be towing a roughly 4,000 cargo trailer on the beach and...
Oh of course, I’m learning so any info is gold to me. It would be interesting to me to see what companies like total composites and globe trekker are using. Also, have you built a habitat and what did you use? What I have been working on is putting together an estimate of what it would cost me...
Thanks for the link. I’m no expert but it seems the Box store XPS has a minimum compressive strength of 25 PSI. It seems the link you sent shows a CS of lower. Paired with a good skin for exterior use shouldn’t this be sufficient? At the end of the day, I just need a super stable habitat, with...
The video is not available to see (for me at least). I was planning on using FRP sheets and XPS Sheets from Lowes. I don’t know Carbon Core where is that sold? I did find some folks on Facebook marketplace selling FRP sheets as well at a quarter of price of box store. I need to see it though...
Thanks for that! Budget is fluid. But am mainly looking for just the truck. I want to create my own habitat. I’ll write him and see if he parts with just the truck. Probably not :-)

I’m new to the Expedition vehicle build, and eyeing a Fuso in lieu of an LMTV. It seems they are pretty hard to come by. I see Earthroamer sells them as the Core (am I right), but looking for something more basic.
If you live close to DC, I will help you LOL. If not, will gladly be a sounding board…I’ve gone through a lot of rework to get to this point. But has been a fun journey.

What Willard just dug up is it makes more sense to talk to total composites or artic Turn. Lol. I’m also combing through Globe Trekker website right now also. Thanks for the tip on the former.

You mind if I pick your brain on your box build? Your use case is exactly what a buddy and I want to do. Even on an LMTV. Albeit, we want a bit bigger box.
I did stumble on them months ago when I was going down the rabbit hole of building a camper from scratch. Since then I’m 99% done doing a cargo trailer conversion, and on the brink of acquiring a overland platform like an LMTV or FMTV and building a box to go on the back. I think I’m going to go...
