I agree, yours must be whatever the blue one above is. If they say its a Converto, great, but why? What marks does it have to prove it? The tub style and tailgate shapes are the same, Im guessing a few years difference between the two would explain the hook design changes and other small details.
Right, I looked at a Spen for comparison as well and its definitely not that. It does seem to be similar green to David Bradley, but Im not convinced. What do the wheels look like under the hubcaps? any square holes that could be used to mount wheel weights (on a tractor)? Thats usually a...
Hmm. BenHur, DavidBradley, and Montgomery Ward all had trailers like that. Im sure there are others Im not aware of, but I am also interested in what you can find about it. Are there any numbers, stampings, serial plates anywhere on it?
I had a very poor experience with Chassis Saver from Magnet Paints (the Monstaliner guys), but POR15 has never let me down. My trailer "frame" and underside were done in POR15, the tongue was TopCoated POR15, and the tub was all done with MagnetPaints Chassis Saver then sanded and Monstalined...
On the topic of logging into forums.....its been a long time for me on this site. And just recently returned to my home forum for XJ stuff. I find myself on here when Im looking for info on new areas of interest, or different vehicle platforms my usual places don't offer. My threads on here...
I'm not sure about the OP, but in my case the tarp will be used for camping trips and other large items that don't fit in totes. Or dirty items that don't go in totes but don't need to be exposed to the elements constantly. I have as many totes as the next guy because I like to be organized...
I'm struggling with the same debate for my sears and roebuck trailer with custom rack. I was planning on canvas but now I'm wondering if I should reconsider for the highway miles I'll see en route to destinations.
Canvas or vinyl or heavy poly? Other options I'm missing?
I actually don't know exactly how tall it is. I know I have almost 4 feet of height between the floor and it. I know it's not quite as tall as my jeep, and I know the uprights are at an 80deg angle. But I focused more on using what I had and building it square rather than building to exact...
Finished the rack in time to haul a other one of these trailers home for thanksgiving. Very happy so far. Still need to add some more extra goodies to it.
