    Engel MRO40 fridge any good?

Buy a remote thermometer for it. The control dial leaves much to be desired.

2nd Gen Tacoma 110 V inverter and refrigerator

If you're moving during the day I wouldn't worry about the extra battery. I have run mine off only the battery plenty (hard wired to 12v) and a good friend runs his off the 120v in the back of his FJ (only runs with vehicle on). My gp35 battery still has juice in the morning, his fridge is...

Help me spend some $ but not too much...

Some of it is going to depend on how much work you want to put into it. I've seen well built contractor canopies that would work well work you, but the owners built the interior to suit themselves. The prebuilt options are nice, but add to that initial cost. On that note, I use a hi-top camper...

    dual battery system

The OGE kit is well put together and worth the price for the convenience to me. The relay is the heart of the system and if you want to save money, there are other tray options and you can do your own wiring, but buy a good relay. The auto sensing feature is wonderful, especially if you add...

Am I crazy for considering a black colored vehicle?

I wouldn't consider the black color a deal breaker if it's otherwise what you want. Color is kind of a personal choice I suppose. It can be measureably warmer in the sun and that may make a difference to you. I didn't want black but it's what was available with my requirements. It does...

Freeze dried hash browns - who else likes them?

Just started using them this year. Great addition to the camp cooking arsenal and very easy to prepare.

    Sleeping pad for truck bed?

I'm in the same boat. In fact, I used that same pad in the bed of my Tacoma on a road trip from N Carolina back to Oregon just recently. It's too long for the truck bed but very comfy. If I had the room I'd make it work. As is I just closed the tailgate and let it fold a bit. No issues so far...

Help locating a post/thread about a particular RTT

http://forum.expeditionportal.com/threads/60810-quot-Narrow-quot-RTT-s-besides-OverZone http://forum.expeditionportal.com/threads/87931-Narrowest-RTT Maybe the Autohome Overcamp is what you're thinking of? Looks pretty cool. I wonder if they're available in the states?

Going to look at a GX 470

Don't know if you've addressed this yet but I added a tow package to my '03. It was pre-wired to a plug on the driver side rear frame rail. You can buy the pigtail adapter that plugs in, bolt on your hitch and be done with it.

Recommendations for a semi DD that can double as an expo rig?

Lexus GX470. Just bought one myself because it was the same price as the 4Rs in my area but with half the miles. Really liking this vehicle. The Toyota platform is hard to beat for DD and exploring duties. A friend has an Xterra and it has been extremely reliable as well. I've owned a couple...

    Really.............Independent Suspension...******?

I wonder what the Toyota crowd sounded like in '86 when they did away with solid front axles in the pickups and 4Runners? 17 years later....nobody even gives it a second thought. It's what they offer now and people love the trucks the same, if not more.

Someone tell me about the ZJ

I loved my '96 5.2. Was a very solid rig. Comfortable, stable, and trouble free. Had 156k on it when I sold it, about 10k of that was me in the 3 yrs I drove it. Got 14-15mpg with a 6.5" long arm kit and 33s on steel wheels. Keep good seal in the sun roof, they leak, water runes down the length...
