Tires Limited Selection?

It certainly can be tough finding good tires in odd sizes. That said if you go to a 17 or 18 inch wheel that is Factory, you can install the R51 V8 Pathfinder Brakes up front. I did that on my 2012 Frontier when I got a set of LE 18 inch wheels. I also run 265/70-18's in Firestone Destination XT's and have no problems.

I am looking for tired options for my van, not the Xterra. I am happy with how it is setup currently.

Yeah, but I'm a Toyo guy. 🙂
Well jeez... if you are stuck on a particular brand and model, I don't think you can complain too hard if the obscure size you want is no longer available... :p

I see that Falken AT4W are available in that size, and they seem well liked.

Bigger diameter rims are a downgrade, not an upgrade.
65 is the lowest profile that should ever be considered for off bitumen use, in my view.
In the US most vehicles are trucks and SUVs that rarely if ever go offroad, and the larger wheels with low profile tires offer a bit better handling and mpg, plus it's a style thing.

I have 65s on 18" rims, but they are 325mm wide, so the same height as 35" tires... plenty of meat.

255/85-17 Mickey Thompson is a tall 35. comes out to a 35x10. super nice riding for an E rated tire and sticks to icy roads like it has studs....if you can get over the pizza cutter look a great tire.

Toyo M55 or Open Country MT. Super tough and bigger diameter than most.
I have the MT on my M1010 ambo. For that rig, it was just the right call but for my van, I wanted something a little less aggressive, since it will likely see a lot more road miles. I have thought about the M55 but haven't been able to get any real world feedback on how well they work offroad (sand, rocks, mud, etc.). My guess when the time comes to replace my current tires, I will likely move up to a 17" wheel. I REALLY want to use the RT Trails, as I have heard great things about them.
