In preparation for wiring of my ARB 50qt to my 4runner, I've been reading up on Anderson Powerpole connectors. I am a little confused and need some help.
Here's my plan: I already have the ARB fridge wiring kit. I'd like to wire it to the Anderson connectors housed in a Powerwerx PanelPole and...
I've spoken with a few industry types about a similar setup. The consensus has been that things get pretty hot under the hood and opening the hood while filling tires etc helps to extend the life of the compressor. Have you experienced any heat issues with your compressor?
Footwear
I'm curious about what types of footwear you guys use. From the research I've done it seems like you can have warm and less comfortable for lengthy walking/hiking or you can have more comfortable for walking/hiking at the expense of warmth. Granted, I live in the PNW so cold for me...
I'm looking at upgrading the stock rubber on my 2013 TE 4Runner. I've tentatively settled on the BFG AT KO2 but am questioning how large I want to go. I was originally thinking about limiting the tire size to 275s in order to keep my gas mileage reasonable while still adding a little more meat...
First and foremost I never blamed Surly for anything and I didn't call them to ask about the trailer. I called them hoping to discuss the intended use of the dropouts they put on their frame and the payload that the hard points could realistically support. The guy I spoke with said there weren't...
This is what I had I envisioned. The author used a portion of a threaded axle in the trailer mount location. Just want to be sure a single (non-drive side) trailer mount could handle the load.

That was my thought too. I called Surly to get their opinion but they would not give one. Essentially told me that "we make frames, call Thule." Very frustrating phone call.
Anyone used the trailer mounts on an Ogre (or I'd assume a Troll)?
Yesterday I took my Ogre out for a quick spin around the neighborhood. I was pulling my toddler in a Chariot CX1 trailer. We road for about 5 minutes up and down two hills before the baby decided that she was done and wanted to ride her trike. I dropped her off and as I pedaled away the rear...
I hear what your saying about spending the money up front means you only cry once. That being said, I believe the K9 is more expensive than the frontRunner...
I've been following several threads pertaining to the the K9 and FrontRunner roof racks and was wondering what your thoughts were as to the pros and cons of slat orientation. Namely, that the slots on the K9 racks run front to back while the slats on the FrontRunner racks run side to side...
I made it out to a local trail system today. The Ogre road well. I feel like the Jones loop bar and the Ergon GP1s will take some getting used to but I'm optimistic they will be the right choice in the long run.
On to the photos.
