    Fear of the highlift?

At the risk of getting absolutely spanked, is there any tool more universally useful than the hi lift? I think most folks would agree that an electric winch is better for winching, there are better/safer ways to lift a vehicle to change a tire or do trail work, clamps are better at clamping and...

Strap for use with Hi-lift for winching

If it makes you feel any better, I think I'm in the same position you are. Or close to it anyway. With a couple of notable exceptions, everyone seems to agree that the hi-lift is a less than stellar way to winch a vehicle but if you're not interested in replacing the front bumper and...

    New ArkPak?

I was looking at the ArkPak today and saw that only the 715 is listed. Are the other models getting replaced or is the 715 the only model being offered at this time?

    Utility trailer camping pod?

Thanks all for the links, pictures and ideas. Jscherb really nailed what I was looking for. Not just a camper on a utility trailer but one that is removable as well. I hadn't thought of doing a slide in truck camper either. I'll definitely be looking into that as an option as well. It...

    Utility trailer camping pod?

I'm in the process of figuring out a road to head down with regard to a camping trailer for myself, wife, 3 month old son and 2 dogs. Initially we were thinking a simple popup then got bit by the adventure trailer bug. We visited an adventure trailer manufacturer here in Salt Lake called...

How to heat a RTT for a 1-year old?

Any reason you couldn't grab a Mr Buddy Heater and call it good?

    Modular Trailer

You can cover your first 3 bases with a Jumping Jack Trailer. Might be able to build a box to use for criteria number 4 and swap it with the tent when you're not camping.

As good a reason as any. Thanks!

    Nissan Pathfinder SV (R51)

As someone who has a stock R51 that's looking to add a leveling kit, why spacers instead of replacement struts? Looking on thenissanpath it seems like everyone goes with struts but I'd be interested in your reasoning for the spacers. Thanks for making this thread.

Exploring Utah One Weekend at a Time

Thanks for the tips guys. I actually registered over there a while ago and totally forgot about it. I'll have to take another look. I live up in Ogden and have played in the mountains up here a little bit but I really have had my eyes on going south and playing down there. Thanks for sharing!

Exploring Utah One Weekend at a Time

As a fellow Utah local, thank you very much for posting these pictures and videos. My wife and I are a little behind you in terms of child age (2 month old here) but I'm hoping to do what you're doing in the not to distant future. One question I have that I haven't been able to answer is where...

    Anybody running a r51 Pathfinder?

Thanks for the welcome and the recommendations. I didn't realize the Pathy, Xterra and Frontier shared aftermarket items. I'll give those a look. I'll also check out thenissanpath.com. I've glanced at it now and again but didn't give it much of a look since it seemed more general and less...

    Anybody running a r51 Pathfinder?

And if so, would you mind helping out a new guy with recommendations on where to purchase after market items? I recently purchased a 2011 Silver Edition and am looking to make it a bit more off road capable. Specifically I'm looking for aftermarket plates for the under carriage but am also...

Switching my life to "not Jeans". Can I get some recomendations for good NON JEANS

Seconding the layer approach. I haven't done any proper snowshoeing but I have hiked in winter. Rather than a heavy insulated pair if pants I would recommend getting a pair of merino wool leggings and shirt. Once you start moving you're going to get hot fast.

Have to ask...but not sure which category...Potty breaks?

My Fiancee has the same hangup. We ended up grabbing a Vista Potty ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000FBNWYK?cache=4a8faaed5ed58f2da574e40ac32eedc9&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70&qid=1408108443&sr=8-20#ref=mp_s_a_1_20) and it works wonders. We have a 10 person tent and set it up on one side while...

Nope, never used one. Ran across them by chance while hunting around for other stove ideas. They look fantastic though. If you go that route make sure to post a review.

    Simple Shower

Best of luck! I have some friends that work the outdoor expo that got me in a couple of times. That gathering is pretty sweet. The sheer amount of cool "stuff" is really impressive and makes me wish I had a lot more money and a lot more room in my house. Other than your shower, anything of...

Joinin' the Montero Club with a Gen 2.5

As someone who could easily see themselves in this position, I'm going to ask a clearly newbie question and ask what's the difference between your tires and the rentals tires? Just that you have beefier off road tires or was there more to it?

    Need laptop suggestions

I picked up a Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11S about 6 months ago. It is a convertible in that the screen can rotate 180 and butt up against the back of the keyboard. I like it because it replaced my old tablet and laptop. Now instead of carrying two devices I can get away with one. What is a little...
